    That's pretty much where I'm at too mate. My most expensive bass is about £300. The most I ever paid was about £1300, but those days are long gone for me.

    Only if it's a valve amp. They should never be used without speakers. As far as I'm aware, there's no problem with solid state. I've used mine DI'd to the PA loads of times and never had any issues.

    To believing that he can actually hold a tune. I mean, I always knew he was a singer, I just didn't think he could actually sing. I've heard far worse fronting very famous bands.

    One related thinh that really boils my wee, is when you go to the time and trouble to properly coil cables and leads before you put them away, yet they still come back out in a big knot. Christmas tree light syndrome!

    Oh I'm so glad you started this post. I've been dying to ask someone this for months but didn't want to sound daft. Are DR strings, as in DR Neons etc, pronounced Dee Are, or Doctor? In my head I've always called the Doctor Neons.

    Fanfrets make my brain itch. They always give the optical illusion of the neck being twisted, and that combined with my rational brain trying to see them as straight makes me feel nauseous. I can't stand to look at them.

    One of the first songs I learned. It's quite easy to follow as it's a basic and repetitive structure for the most part. I still love playing the bass into part.
