  1. Too many to list, but almost all the now called "classic rock" albums I listened to in my youth I wouldn't dream of skipping a track. GNR Appetite for Destruction would be one example, but there are many more.
  2. That's nothing but noise to me, but each to their own.
  3. No wonder the singer was confused. Did the drummer play an upside down kit with his feet whilst standing on his head? 😆
  4. In all honesty, I've heard far, far worse from well rehearsed gigging bands. I know it's only a short clip but I'd say you got away with it. Very cool stage by the way.
  5. I'll take formulaic rock over improvise jazz any day.
  6. I don't particularly want any specific bass until I see one I like at the right price. Two absolute corkers I missed out on on here in the past 12 months were a six string multi scale ibanez and a six string Cort that was obscenely cheap considering the spec. I say "missed out on". I didn't really have any realistic option to buy and ship them considering the gift that keeps on giving would negate any value in getting them cheap in the first place.
  7. I can feel my anxiety levels rising just reading this thread. I always have really bad nerves before and during a gig. I wouldn't even dream of taking something like this on. Fair play to you. I hope it's "alright on the night", as it were. But yeah, the singer sounds like a totally clueless wannabe.
  8. Beat me to it. I use a laptop bag for my Veyron. You couldn't design a custom bag to fit any better.
  9. Nope. Never had any interest whatsoever in doing so, and highly doubt I ever will.
  10. The one that really gets me is how Americans pronounce Herbs as Erbs, when it clearly has an H.
  11. As long as we don't stray off topic it'll all be fine.
  12. The question you really need to be asking is why Constantinople is now called Istanbul. Well.......? Hmmm........? Nobody's business but the Turks.
  13. I often look like I'm dancing a but. In reality I'm just shifting my weight from one foot to another to stop my back snapping in half.
  14. That was a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, well before the internet and Google. If you want to come up with something unique now, you've got to do something far more than swap a vowel.
  15. Ridiculous price for a quality spec instrument. Any other name on the headstock and it would sell for twice that price. Bizarre when you consider how many other brands are actually built by Cort. GLWTS. Great bass.
  16. Define "quality". One man's dream gig is another man's nightmare. For example, I can't imagine anything worse than playing at a wedding. For many this would be considered a quality gig. Drunken afternoon barbeque in someone's back garden, I'm all over it.
  17. The most recent one I wrote down was Buxom Struts
  18. I have a list of potential band names as long as my arm. Like you, my current band spent weeks of back and forth before we came up with a name. So now ever time something pops up in general conversation that sounds like it could make up a good band name I write it down just in case. Although as you said, it's amazing how many of them are already taken, even when you think you're being obscure.
  19. The problem is, if you get creative with spelling to try and come up with something unique, you spend the next X amount of years not only telling people your band's name, but having to explain how to spell it.
  20. Welcome Paul. I play an ESP LTD sixer as well. Fantastic bass, but it weighs about the same as a small house.
  21. I don't know about playing, but I think I'd enjoy watching that. 😆
  22. I'd rather play 2 gigs a year. Ideally without leaving the house.
  23. Learning to play the recorder in primary school has had a profound effect on my life. I can't even list the amount of times I've found it an invaluable skill.
