I don't remember ever seeing a careers officer at my school, which probably wouldn't have made any difference. I didn't know what I wanted to do at 17, I still don't know what I want to do at 47, and I've hated every job I've ever had. More often than not because of the bellends I had to work with rather than the actual job. I'd even hate to be a full time musician. Getting dragged all over the place and having to put up with the great unwashed doesn't appeal to me at all.

I wishing had a back catalogue. I could really do with a new back.

My band usually gets "Please don't bring that bass player again".

Yeah I agree. Yet another example of a company taking a perfectly good product, and making it sound naff.

If they do then I'm definitely putting SDGR on the list. I generally love Ibanez basses, but I bloody hate that logo. Another example of how to make a perfectly good instrument look cheap and tacky.

The Bugera will blow the doors off anywhere you would want to use it. I can't even get mine past half way when playing outdoors.

I've said it many times before, but I still think the Fender P bass (and for that matter the jazz) is the ugliest bass there is. It's an amorphous blob with the ugliest headstock I've ever seen, and those stupid big flat elephant ear tuners should be melted down for scrap. On top of that they're usually painted in bright colours so they look ridiculously cheap and tacky. Every P I've ever seen looks like it was £99 from Argos.

Nope. Solid state. Easily kept up with a heavy drummer and a 100w guitar combo. Plenty loud enough for indoor gigs.

Back in the old days, I used to gig in a heavy metal cover band (mostly Metallica) with a 30w Laney combo. 200w was the stuff of dreams.
