Hi Josh as Alembic says...Hi Josh, I fitted the BQC to a passive fretless I own and it made a big difference in terms of tonal possibilities. The only thing I was not to keen on was that the wiring coming off the main circuit board is very brittle (at the solder joints)...so if you do install be very careful as the wiring sometimes snaps off at the circuit board...this is a real pain if you don't remember where the wires were originally attached. I liked having the mid sweep. I had to totally rewire the supplied harness with EMG Jazz pups, be very careful. I have a BTC in my Precision, that has a good scope on the sound of the pups.

I don't know about this one, the lines of the black of the sunburst look strange, the finger board is a totally different colour to the headstock (could be down to a re-fret), pickups dying after a year? but the thing that looks the most odd is the bare wood on the rear contour, I hope I'm being paranoid. Perspex can be very brittle and susceptible to cracking, it's the worst kind of material to use. It takes ages to polish and any scratches that you put on the underside will show and putting a 45 degree bevel arond the edge is a nightmare. I've got an old Jazz scratch plate you can have to practice cutting and shaping on

Try some preamp pedals, Aguilar, Sadowsky or the Electro Harmonix "Knock out" looks good value. In Bass Guitar Mag, it gave it a brilliant review and said it did a great job of making slapping sound good.

How old are the strings? The skinny ones tend to loose their tone first, hang about, that's rubbish, I've had all kinds of strings die at different times. Have you put new strings on? Try tapping both sides of the pickup with a screwdriver to see if there is an even output.

I did a stone and set up on one for a student and when I put the new strings on, it sounded brilliant. Dead solid, great neck and parts, lovely deep tone, if I find a lefty, I'd like one, well impressed.

Kev, DON'T DO IT! I did they same thing with a black 76 Thunderbird and my old Jaydee, once they're gone, that's it. As Ped said, the money you get from this will vanish, ask Mum and Dad or whoever for a top up for a little while. Are you working at the moment, you could earn £950 behind a bar in the weeks leading up to and including Christmas and New Year, inc tips, thats how I paid for my Jaydee, while I was also working a 9 till 5 (bar rates back in 1986 were a lot lower, so more like 3 months). Although I would hate to work behind a bar now serving Flaming Sambukas and Tizers to coked up kids. If you do get another job, you can get a nice amp in the new year and join a cool band and play some great gigs with your lovely bass, it's all gravy in the end, that's why we do it.

Wal bass - 1983 £1450 Craigs list - Looks like a Scam

Is pretty bass, you leave money in bag under bench in park I see you get bass later -
Oh dear, if I'm correct, that is the infamous Beechwood Estate (Ford) in Birkenhead, luckily a good 4 miles from where I live. I recognise the biker dude and that little pin head should be sterilized. Birkenhead and the rest of the country is full of this type of rat, no, that is an insult to rodents.

Here you go Chris http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22074&hl= Good luck Steve. PS I forgot to put in the original thread that ater using the Nitromorse I cleaned the bass with virgin thinners (panel wipe) which you can get from any car paint suppliers, this removes any traces of Nitromorse and evaporates.
