6. Hi all, There's a 3/4 Double Bass advertised locally as a Mavis. Anyone heard of this make and are they any good? It's a cheap price , so probably a cheap Chinese, but worth a look for £175.

  8.
Thanks Will Now sorted courtesy of the Bass Doc Cheers Chris
Hi Beedster, I too have an '81 Precision Special and I have a problem with the treble tone pot. If I turn it up it creates what sounds like feedback (high pitched squealing). Would you be able to forward me a copy of the circuit? [email protected] Thanks, Tim

  11. I have a Fender P Special 1980 that has active circuitry. The E & A strings give a great response but both D & G strings are very lacking in punch/tone. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Regards, Tim
  12. Can anyone reccomend a gig bag/supplier to fit a fender precision (1980 Special)? I was looking to pay about £15-20. Thanks, Tim

    G&L SB-2

I also have an SB-2, but in black and vol/vol pots only. (& no string Tree!) But I'm not over over impressed with the output from the Precision pickup. Not the 'huge amounts of thump from the MFD split P' that you get so I'm wondering if I could have a duff pickup? I do change strings regularly so any ideas? I have also tried a diffferent bass through my amp (fender P Special) which gives a lot more 'thump' and tonal range. Cheers, Tim
