Now Sold - thanks for looking! Hi Folks Having recently acquired a Zoom B3, I'm now putting up my old Zoom B2 for sale.. Now SOLD It comes with the original box and a manual, but there isn't a PSU with it unfortunately as I ran it off my power brick and used batteries.. It's in pretty good condition but in the interests of full disclosure, one of the control knobs is a bit loose now, though it doesn't affect it's functionality. I bought it about 3 years ago from barneyg42 at one of the South East Bass Bashes and it's been so useful since then for things like acoustic gigs, jam nights, rehearsals etc, simply because it packs a lot of really useful features into one small, portable unit that fits into the pocket of a gig bag: Tuner, compression, limiter, amp modelling, chorus, octave, flange, phase, distortion etc, etc. But also, the bank of amp modelling patches is really useful - Ampeg, Fender Bassman, SWR, Acoustic, Sansamp, Tube etc. Any questions, please feel free to PM me, Thanks for looking. Nik

** NOW SOLD - THANKS FOR LOOKING ** Hi Folks Continuing my mini clear out, here's a set of P/J pick ups and the associated volume/tone controls: NOW SOLD I bought these from Space Chick about a year ago but haven't got round to using them or to testing them.... I was told they came from a Squier bass, but can't be certain of that. However, they are in good condition and all the necessary parts are there. Any questions, please PM me or ask away here. Thanks for looking, Nik

NOW SOLD - thanks for looking! Hi Folks Boss ME-50B multi-fx unit NOW SOLD. It's a fabulous unit that's served me well for almost 3 years, but I've just bought a Zoom B3, so it's time to move this on - hopefully to a fellow Basschatter.. To say it's a mult-fx unit is to under sell it's feature set really, because it also has some very useable compressors on board, and a good e.q. section too! It is a fabulous all rounder... Full working order and is in good cosmetic condition and comes with the original box and manual, but there's isn't a PSU with it I'm afraid. I actually bought it like that because I used it with my power brick.. A replacement PSU can be picked up for about £8 on Ebay or Amazon, or you can operate this with batteries... Price, p&p etc.. New, these cost over £200 at Thomann, so I think £75 is a very fair price (see here: http://www.thomann.d...multieffekt.htm), but I will listen to sensible offers.. As always, I'm happy to post this and if I have to, then it will be packaged up very carefully. Otherwise, happy for local Basschatters to come and give it a try, have a cuppa and some biscuits and the inevitable 'bass-chat'. Any questions, please PM me or ask here... Thanks for looking Nik

FS: Reussenzehn Daniel D Bass Deluxe Tubebooster, £65 + p&p
silverfoxnik replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Effects For Sale
Hi Folks Bumping this quite rare Reussenzehn Daniel D valve pedal for sale for which I'm asking £65 + p&p. Recently serviced and in full working order, this is quite a rare piece of kit that produces a really warm, valvey tone that makes a huge difference to the overall presence of your sound when playing live!! And as a bonus, it provides a significant gain boost which is particularly useful if you use passive basses like I do.. It's currently fitted with a Sylvania 12ax7 from 1976 (that I got from Walbassist earlier this year) which can be bought with the Daniel D for an extra £20, which is what I paid for it. Otherwise, the unit will come fitted with a more generic 12ax7 valve. Photos: More photos in the first post above... It's a rare beast, but there is some info about it on the net here if you want to know more: Reussenzehn website (Look on the 'Musiker' page under bass preamps) Harmony Central Disco Fred's Effects database If you're interested and want to know more, please ask here or PM me.
Apologies for the rattles, squeaks and other noises - the camera's microphone was amplifying absolutely every sound coming its way, not just the speech as would have been far preferable.
No need to apologise bluejay; this is really good to see.. Thanks for the hard work in putting it together so quickly! -

Home; a chance to unwind and relax now after a great day! Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a success.. In particular, Hamster & Mrs Hamster for looking after us so well. Also, Jack for such an invaluable talk, bluejay for keeping us all connected and looking our best.. Paul for keeping us grooving in the Jam Room. Plus Roger for treating us all to a go on those amazing DBs of his. I actually managed to do an F maj scale on one of them and am still in a state of shock as a result! And I'd like to thank Ian, Steve, ChiMike and everyone else who helped out with the Solid state Vs Valve Amp Shoot out.. It was a bit of a blag to be honest, but we got there in the end - didn't we?? Anyway, as ever, it was great to see some good friends again and make some new ones.. Here's to next year! -
Again, bit too late notice, but I can bring a looping setup that people can have a go through, with some effects and what-not. Don't have a lot of space to bring many pedals as I have to leave for a gig at 3pm, but if there are any pedals brands/types that people wanna try, lemme know. Obviously always happy to talk about pedals/effects etc Cheers Si
Cheer Si, I'm sure people there will want to talk to you about using pedals/fx - i know I do! See you then.
Have a great day chaps, I wont make it I'm afraid, but make a little bit too much noise for me
Sorry we won't see you Si - hope all's well with you! -

Some great suggestions folks - thank you! A looper pedal is a very cool idea, so yes please to that Ian. CamdenRob; all points noted and flat eq is the way to go for sure.. As to how many amps.. two from each section would make sense also. I think it might also be interesting to use a drum loop/beat as well, to provide some context... -
I'd be willing to put my EBS TD650 forward as a "middle ground" contender if someone wanted to run this! Would like to hear the difference side by side with SS/Digital/Tube rigs
OK, so a quick update on the idea of a valve vs solid state vs hybrid amp 'shoot-out'.. Having discussed it with Chimike, we think it'd be interesting to compare the relative merits of: Valve amps Hybrid amps (valve pre + solid state output stage) Lightweight Class D amps We have the following amps put forward for this so far: EBS TD650 Fender Bassman Trace Elliot Quatra Valve Marshall Superbass 100 Ampeg (model TBC) GB Streamliner 600 Aguilar Tonehammer 500 Hughes & Kettner Bassbase 600 Mesa Walkabout If anyone has any other amps that might make this more intresting, then please let us know? Thinking of Markbass, Thunderfunk, GK, Eden etc, etc. We will probably do this using a couple of different basses and a couple of different cabs, including my SWR Triad, which is a good all rounder.. Suggestions/offers of basses and cabs for this will be very welcome Would also welcome suggestions as to how to run this - thinking of perhaps doing it like the P Bass shootout at the last Hert's Bash? Is anyone interested in being the demo bass player for this?? Time will be 2pm-3pm. In terms of other talks in the Theatre: Happy Jack's talk will be at 12pm Roger (basssace) will have his DB with him to do small sessions as and when (hope that's OK Roger?) See you Saturday! Nik
