1.
Oops just realised I would have to leave at 12 noon as something family related in diary that afternoon. Colin/Nik, barring your splendid selves, how many arrived at last year's bash well before midday? If nearly everyone came in the afternoon, I will probably have to decline
Hi Clarky For the last few years, there's been quite a lot of people turn up bang on 10am, so I'd say it's probable we'll have 20-25 peeps before 12pm. They're the ones (like me) who've just come out of church, having been in to give our obligatory Sunday morning thanks that we're not 'guitarists'! Does that help? Nik
  2. Thank you folks! I shall take that as a consensus
  3. Hi Folks OK, having done the sums, we've a surplus of £62.35 from yesterday's Bash that we can donate to charity (after paying for venue costs and refreshments). John (Kiogon) was saying to me when he and i were chatting that he'd be quite happy if any surplus was donated to the disability charity I work for called Enable Me (www.enablemeproject.org.uk). However, before doing that, I wanted to check in with you all to see if you are happy with that idea? To give a bit of background, Enable Me is a disability awareness raising charity that provides opportunities and support for disabled people. It's a small charity and I am the CEO, having been here since it started in 2005. Loraine (Mrs Silverfoxnik) also works for the charity from time to time and she runs our film/animation workshops which are specifically for the benefit of children & young people with autism & learning difficulties. Enable Me has benefited before from donations from the South East Bash on a couple of occasions over the years, and that's because I've put it forward for consideration.. Obviously, I think it's a worthy cause, but then again - I am rather biased. So, please have a think and let me know your thoughts, Thanks Nik
  4.
Glad you liked the bass Nik. I'll make contact with MIke so the K140 can be handed over for some experimentation. I had bought it because I recall reading that Norman Watt-Roy used them in the cabs he had made back in the early days of the Blockheads.
Sounds great - thanks Steve
Thx Nik & Lorraine for organising a very enjoyable Sunday Bass Bash, great to meet up with some fellow players and check out the gear and stuff and my wife was impressed that I did not buy any more gear.
Glad you enjoyed it Rob and am impressed that you didn't buy any gear... There was some very tempting stuff there though I have to say
  5. Hello again, There was a lot of really nice gear there yesterday so in advance of any photos, a couple of mentions whilst I remember.. Andy's ACG Recurve 5 was really beautiful, and sounded great through his Taurus head and Schroeder 1212.. A very lovely '66 P bass courtesy of Steve.. Also, a very cool looking Reverend Rumblefish bass (I think?), Ollie's gorgeous Ibanez Musician, Phil's lefty '79 Jazz, jhk's Goodfellow and Chimike's Tokai Hardpuncher, to name but a few. On the amp front, there was some cool Boogie gear in the house which was FAB to see and hear, Andy's Taurus and Josh's Markbass F1 impressed me in the lightweight head dept. But most of all, Chimike's Trace Quatra valve head through my Altec Lansing loaded 1x15 cab, was just wonderful! Major GAS attack now!
  6. Thanks folks, It was a really good day and 6 hours just seemed to fly by! Loraine took about 200 photos, so we gave up trying to sort through them last night as we were too tired. Should be able to get some posted up later though. Nik
  7. A quick thanks to everyone who came to the West Sussex Mini Bash today and helped make it such an enjoyable day! Thanks also to jakenewmanbass and Happy Jack for their talks, which were informative as well as being really practical and helpful. Have to also thank bluejay for her help with everything leading up the Bash in terms of social media stuff and to Loraine (Mrs Silverfoxnik) for doing such an amazing job keeping everyone fed and watered.. Will try and put some pictures up later tonight when I've recovered. Nik
  8. Hi Folks.. I'm at the venue and have encountered a bit of serious problem! One of the 2 rooms here that I'd planned to use today is now unavailable to us, so it's going to be a much, much tighter squeeze in the hall than is desirable. So we're all going to have to be really, really nice to each other.. One thing it will mean is that we won't have a separate space for Jake and Jack's talks, so we will have to improvise as we get to it. Really sorry about this folks; I hope it's not going to spoil your enjoyment of the day? Nik
  9. Hi again, I forgot to say that the hall is nowhere near local shops to get lunch/ refreshments etc, so there will be some: Tea/coffee/herbal tea Squash Pastries On sale today, for those who need it. However, if you need more sustenance, there's a local Tesco store about 5 minutes away by car.. Nik
  10. Thanks Dave See you then, Nik

  17.
Pm sent.
And replied
  18. *** SOLD*** Thanks for looking Hi Folks Up for sale is my Schroeder 21012 bass cab, bought on here almost a year ago from JPJ. I'm looking for £240 (plus p&p) or near offer for it. To be honest, it's a lot less than I paid for it last year, but I realise that the market is very slow at the moment and that larger cabs are not so 'fashionable' any more, so it's priced hopefully to sell quickly. Reason for selling: Although it's a great sounding cab (more about that below), I'm selling it simply because I now have too many cabs, having recently acquired both a 2x15 set-up and a very portable 2x12 set-up... And, with an SWR Triad as well (which I have no plans to sell), I now have three very different cab set-ups for gigs to choose from, and I'm only gigging once or twice a month as it is! And I'm mainly using cabs with 15s in them as much as possible, when venue space and my energy levels allow.. So, it's time for me to be sensible, make some space and hopefully, claw back a few £s... Photos: Here's some photos which have my trusty Blade B15 in to give you a sense of scale (Blade not for sale of course): Technical spec, sound, etc: Power handling: 1100w at 8 ohm I'm going to quote JPJ who I bought this from last year, as his thread described the cab very eloquently indeed.. So with thanks to Kev in advance (see here for more info: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2240092): "If you've never heard one of these, you won't believe the 'room filling' sound you get from such a small box. The cab is 600mm x 600mm x 405mm deep (23.5" x 23.5" x 16"). I don't have an accurate weight for this but the old bathroom scales say its around 30kg." I think Kev really has a point; this cab really does fill the room and offers fantastic clarity - especially as you use travel further up the fretboard and use notes higher up the register. As if to endorse that point, the only time I've ever had a comment about my bass sound (other than from a fellow bass player) at a gig during the last 4 or 5 years was when using this cab at a pub gig at the end of last year! Weight-wise, it's nearer to 70 lbs to be honest, and the casters add extra weight too, but they make it so easy to move around, it's worth it! Full disclosure: There is a bit of history to this cab, so in the interests of full disclosure, I'm going to again quote from Kev's thread last year: "Before going any further, a few things you need to know about this cab. I obtained this cabinet empty after a fellow basschatter received an exchange 'box' from Schroeder due to there being a small 'crack' in the bottom of the baffle. I have left this untouched and re-speakered (if that is a word) the cab with genuine Eminence Delta speakers (2 x Delta 10, 350w, 8 ohm, and 1 x Delta 12, 400w, 16 ohm) to give a combined 1100w at 8 ohm. The cab has the original Schroeder crossover and tweeter fitted and this has an attenuator on the back panel. This has been my 'small rig' cab for the last 3 years and has been gigged regularly, although it is in very good condition save for a few scratches to the plastic corner pieces. It is currently fitted with castors but can be supplied with the original rubber feet if you prefer. This is one of the original American series cabs that has the 12" driver mounted on the angled baffle." Since I acquired the cab last year and especially after it made it's 300+ miles journey to me via DX Couriers, I was very keen to check the cab over and did notice some buzzing... So, in order to address that issue, I was very fortunate to be able to enlist the help of chimike (who's a bit of an engineering whizz to be honest) and with Mike's help the cab was fully checked over to ensure that all the drivers were functioning as they should, and that all joints, baffles etc, were checked and filled with resin to ensure that there were no problems, rattles, or buzzing with this cab. And I'm happy to say, since that work's been done, everything's working perfectly, and there's no buzzing.. So all is as it should be! Reviews etc: Have a look here: http://www.bgra.net/...62&type=cabinet http://www.harmonyce...ella-17/429535- http://www.harmonyce...ella-17/429535- Postage, collection etc: First off, I'm more than happy to package the cab up securely and ship it out, which would probably cost between £20 and £25, depending on where it's got to be shipped to. Second, anyone who's interested is very welcome to come and test the cab out and collect in person if they like it... Tea & biscuits available of course. And lastly, this cab will be at the West Sussex Mini-Bash on Sunday, should anyone local want to come and try it out.. Trades: I'd rather sell to be honest, but a lightweight, inexpensive head to use with my new 2x12 cabs could be of interest?? Right, it's late and that's all I can think of to say about this cab for now, but if you have any questions, please feel free to PM me or ask here.. Thanks for looking Nik
  19. Hi Folks I've had a few questions about where Clymping Village Hall is exactly, because if you Google the postcode, it takes you to a local primary school, which won't be much use on the day.. Address: The actual address is: Clymping Village Hall, Climping, Littlehampton, West Sussex BN17 5SN (just be aware that sometimes it's signposted as Climping, not Clymping) Map: And here's a map of where it is exactly.. Just click on the image and you'll be able to view it larger.. Directions: The Village Hall is situated just off the north side of the A259, about a mile and a half from Littlehampton BR station and about a mile from Ford BR station. So...

If you are heading to the event coming along the A259 from Worthing in the east, then you will need to turn right off the A259 to access the Hall.
If you are heading to it from Bognor in the west, then you will need to turn left off the A259.
And if you are coming from Ford Station or Arundel in the North, then you will be traveling south on Church Lane from Arundel. Follow Church Lane until it meets the A259; turn left at the roundabout and it's approx. 50 yards up on the left (2nd turning).
Hope that helps but if you have any questions, please just ask here or PM me. Thanks Nik
  20. Thanks bluejay - that's brilliant!
  21. I can bring a Boss charger...
