  1. Yep.. For someone who's able to transport a 6x10 or 8x10 to gigs probably is able to also transport a stand without a problem! Although, I've always had the idea of having a rotatable bit added to small combos or cabs which would allow the neck to be rested up against it without risk of it sliding away. As in, the bass sits on the floor leaning against the amp, but this just provides a groove for the neck to sit in. When not in use it can be spun round so it sits flush against the top of the cab or bass. I'm sure that's a real thing, but if not, someone should make it!
  2. This isn't bass related but wanted to share anyway. I was looking for a nice looking semi acoustic of some sort. One that can be left in the living room without being an eyesore. I took a punt on this deco item. Think I paid 70 quid for it - no idea what a normal one retails at- and for 70 quid I'm blown away! The only issue I see is that the white plastic bridge section was loose and pointing towards the neck meaning the action was extremely low and of course making it not work. However a bit of superglue and its working a treat all the electrics work fine and I can't see any other blemishes at all! Love it!
  3. Self indulgent is not a term I'd use for this. Not exactly sure why someone would. In my eyes, self indulgent is when someone says they're reviewing sonething like a pedal but really it's a video to show off their slap bass chops.
  4. Could an ms60b not do this with the splitter effect? Can also double up as your tuner and compressor!
  5. I have a yamaha bb1000 which is an old p bass type thing. Can't say I've noticed this up until the past few weeks, and I can't remember ever experiencing it on any other basses I've ever owned so I thought I'd put it out there to see if this is just how p basses are, or if theres something up with my bass. As the title suggest, when i bend the strings, or even a slight vibrato, I notice the signal seems to be louder. Acoustically there seems to be no difference so i can only suspect its the pickups adding this. Now, with the string being in between two poles, and the bending motion bringing it closer to a pole, I would suppose it's pretty normal. But, this is noticeable so much so I'm avoiding bending strings... which is not ideal. It's been passable live but I've got a session tomorrow and I really fancied using this bass! Question is... is this a symptom of an electrical issue or is it something else than I'm over looking? definitely feeling like a 'noob' right now cos I'm stuck!
  6. I've no plans to purchase it, but I fully understand the value it would have to alot of players out there. It will be of extremely high quality, based on Scott's other stuff and I've watched the clip of Gary and drummer playing to some laptop synthy stuff. Worth it for the drummer alone!
  7. If I can add my tuppence worth, then I might do! Personally, and this just be wrong, I like to read other people's thoughts on something I'm purchasing!
  8. Are you ever north of the border? Or ever close-ish to the border? I love the look of this.
  9. He'll have done the numbers and worked out the expected up take. If he could do it within the normal academy, or even release as free material and still make money, I'm sure he would. But, I would suspect if its ten hours of material, th;s been a massive outlay involved
  10. My first proper bass! But in white. Stupidly stripped it down to the wood, defretted it and put a trem system onto it! Then sold it on ebay for 80 quid! Seem to remember it as being brilliant!
  11. Already googled! 😁😁 and, it seems tokai have no structure to their serials which make dating a non exact science! Basically, if its one specific year, then I'd be buying it, for the whole 'year of birth' thing!
  12. I've had a bass go missing through parcel force. It was getting sent to me. The seller never got his money back. Boxes the size of a bass don't disappear. They get thieved. The whole industry boils my fosters!
  13. I thought for a second this was a ms60b type replacement pedal, which i would have been interested in. Are all the buttons n'stuff really fake? That's utterly bizarre!
  14. I use them as my exclusive sounds for all my function work. It sounds awesome. Although I pretty much stick to the swr set, there's a definite sound difference in them all, so you'll find a sound you like, for sure!
  15. I agree with this completely. Even if it still took 2 slots of memory but we only saw one then it would make it better. Or even better... If there was a way to configure what 3 pedals are shown at any one time, rather than relying on scrolling left and right. I find that in practice not easy. I'd imagine folk are like me in that alot of the chain will always be switched on so wouldn't really need to have to scroll through them each time. It's probably a much more complicated solution than I'm imagining, but I think there's definitely something in it!
  16. Have you recently changed your practice routine? Specifically have you started to practice sitting down more than you used to? I ask, because I have. And I feel my technique when standing up (and the different angles I play at in result) feels a bit odd.. Which I blame on the bass, but it might not be. I went maybe 15 years with almost no home practice, so I pretty much always played standing up at gigs and rehearsals. Daft theory, I know.
  17. This, and naming stuff, I find a bit cringey.
  18. If I could start all over again, I would love to have used his playing style as inspiration. I love playing pick in the house, but don't think my technique is strong enough to be used live! Although this wee clip has made me want to practice more!
  19. Play one bass. Genuinely that's my thoughts. Make live play as simple as possible and just enjoy playing.
  20. I actually have haggis neeps and tatties on a semi regular basis. It's a wonderful meal! Though I'm Scottish, so it might not be unusual.
  21. Idebtical tical to my number 1 bass! Plays beautifully! I feel value of these are only going to go up!
  22. The new digital desks and PA's available to us are mind blowing. Great clean recording, some lovely playing too.
  23. Just as a matter of interest, what kind or artist rate are we talking? To me, sounds a bit like a selling tool by the manufacturers... Unless of course the rates are hugely discounted. Still a cool accolade though!
