  1. That, and then a Moog 😂 Thats a bit beyond my current needs. Just after some effects that might get me close to an approximation. Octaver and….. ???
  2. Hello. The guitarist started playing this at last rehearsal, and I started playing along from memory. Quite fancy gigging it! I appreciate the part was originally played on a Moog, but any pointers on what sort of effects I could utilize to approximate with a 4 string? Preferably on the Zoom effects list too 😂
  3. There might be a Bass chatter in your destination country who might help. Could pop an ad in the “wanted” section?
  4. Just got a Mooer Tender Octaver for my lad (Royal Blood nut) and that seems to do octave up really well. It actually replaced a TC Sub’n’up.
  5. Of course, now I also need to add a bottom box (?) to the board so I can mount the power supply underneath and make it all look neater. Also might add some input & output jacks at the back. And yes, I am now living my dreams through my kids 🤦🏻
  6. Santa has sorted the eldest’s pedalboard. This is now bang on the money for the first album, apparently. I must admit, it does sound very impressive. Donner splitter, Harley Benton tuner, Mooer Tender Octaver, EHX Big Muff “tone wicker”. All powered by a HB Iso1 AC (awesome bit of kit). But just when I thought I’d be getting my pedals back, child #2 nabs my Zoom & looper 🤦🏻
  7. I might just get one because they look cool. I’ll get a matching headband, too.
  8. My hands are like daddy long legs - spindly fingers tripping over themselves 🤡 Yeah, the Jags are all Jazz width, so I don’t expect I’ll find what I want “off the shelf”. I contemplate a custom build every once in a while.
  9. Is that the same as popping a bit of foam under the strings by the bridge?
  10. A suggestion - pop the HPF before the compressor. Stops big lows from pulling everything else down, so should mean a more consistent signal.
  11. What are the sweatband things at the nut for?
  12. 42mm nut, too. Damn, that looks like a nice option.
  13. I popped in to James Music in darkest Carmarthen today. Nice chaps behind the counter. I had a go on a Squier Jag in bright metallic orange. I think 32” is a great scale length! Unfortunately the neck is a little too narrow for my liking. It also felt a tad thicker front to back compared to my P bass. Reminded me a little of my mate’s Rickenbacker (though I only had a go on it once many moons ago, so that might not be a particularly accurate comparison). It was strung with clanky rounds, and there was some fret buzzing. The pickup was damn comfortable to rest my thumb on. The body is a great shape, and nicely compact. The orange is lovely in real life, too. If Squier (or Fender) brought out a medium scale version with a P width neck, I’d have one in a flash.
  14. That is lovely. I’m now looking for one 😂 Do you have a “before” pic?
  15. Bought mine from the first owner. I have never noticed that my tuners aren’t flush! They look like yours (OP). I had raised pole pieces under the A string but they did my head in so I swapped them for Toneriders. Also put a Kiogon loom in. I can’t remember if the original wiring was cloth covered or not. Original plate, loom & pickups buried in a box somewhere. Weight for mine is 3.9 kgs.
  16. Ooh, minty. Noice. You could do, but I would get the hacksaw out and keep the pups as-is. Different, innit.
  17. Here’s something Fendery with a two & a four underneath (off Pinterest). Mmmm, nice!
  18. Nice one @chyc! If I had loads of space/time/money, I’d do a pair of the MK3’s with a medium dark stain and use them as a monster of a hifi between gigs 😂
  19. The Four10 is 8 ohm. Pity, as that would look the nuts. A Two10 is switchable 12 or 4 ohms, so that would work, but won’t look as cool as the Four. Suppose you could put the Two10 on top of the amp flight case, then the amp on top of that? 😂
  20. This thread makes me want a headless Talman, too! 😂
  21. You’ve got a good eye for a restoration, Andy 👍
  22. The tuning bridge always seems a bit exposed on conversions, like it could easily get bashed hanging off the back of the body. I had a Hohner Jack headless (damn, why did I sell that again?) that had strap buttons either side of the tuners, so you could still lean it up against an amp etc.
