I wandered into a shop today and nabbed a Flyte...

Love the grain on that. -
There was a nice looking Blackstar 2x10 in the classifieds the other day. See if I can find it now… Found it:
-
Still a 2x10 400w cab up for £99. Bonkers.
-
I also had a ganders to no avail 😂

Oh man, you got me! In my defense, you are aging a guitar body in the garden for months at a time! -

Ashsolutely bonkers! I love it! -
Squier Sonic Broncos are current, so should be some available to try in ye olde fashioned music shoppe. The white one looks ace. The old Vistas are hard to find and have a 42mm nut width. Guessing preference would be for a 38mm?

Could be something daft like a compressor ducking the bass channel on the digital mixer?
-
I can rarely help, but I love an ID thread! 😂

I remember those! Lovely looking bass. Congrats on your acquisition!

Maybe he got in to modding Harley Benton PB 50s? I jest, but that would be awesome.

Thank you, but I’m fixated on getting a white one! Good to know not everyone is jumping on the silly price bandwagon - there is hope for me yet… Supply & demand though I guess - made for only a year and lots of buzz ont’ net. Not surprising.
-
I’d really love one in white, but the asking prices these days seem silly.

Happy BF Two10 user here. Usually gig with a 9 piece soul band - plenty loud. Have also done several Guns’n’Roses-type gigs with two Marshall 4x12s. Kept up. Can’t see me needing anything else, ever. As mentioned too - anything beyond the drum kit’s acoustic volume (ie, mic’d up kit) would mean PA support for everything else anyway.

This popped up on my watchlist and looks to be in fantastic condition, so thought I’d share.

Harley Benton MV-4M Mustang-like bass. £198. Opinions?

I can’t find these on Thomann any longer. Maybe they have now actually been discontinued. -
Bogart?

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

Recent convert to LaBella low tension flats (think they only do the one gauge). Love them on my long scales, but thought they might be a bit floppy on my short scale. Bought a set anyway… Thankfully they feel as great on the short scale as they do in a long scale! Thought I’d mention it just in case anyone else was wondering the same. -
2x One10’s/ 1x Two10 are plenty for an average pub rock gig.

I put hook on the board first pedalboard I a made. I regret this decision, as it traps all the crap/dust/general debris. This is probably why everyone else in the world puts loop on the board.

Nearly done! The shim went in, then came out after it kicked the body end of the neck up too much. Pickup sits perfectly now. Electrics still work, and it sounds nice & thumpy! Still to do - cut a new truss rod cover, get a new nut (the one it came with had the strings bunched together a bit too much). The frets are not great, so might need to take it to my excellent local luthier to sort. Unsure whether I will change the tuners in the future, maybe just the collars, as they are so damned heavy in comparison to the rest of the bass. Also wondering if I should have kept the original bridge on. Will see how I feel a year down the line! BTW - the tuners don’t have the little holes for the string ends to hide in, if you were wondering why it has antenna.

I started with a One10 as I always go through the PA too. Then got a second One10 in tweed because it looked cool. Sold them due to financial reasons, then ended up buying a Two10 a year or so later. For me it’s swings & roundabouts. I like having the option of just talking one to a jam, but I also like having just one box. I’ll stick with the Two10 for the foreseeable now, but I’d be equally as happy with two One10s.

Man this is taking ages! The bass has been sitting in a corner, daring me to finish it. Today, I pulled out the router to drop the pickup cavity by 5mm. I love routers! (that filled-in PU cavity was under the factory finish).
-
I’d love one, but they are beyond my modest fun budget 😂 I did have a go on one of these SS Jags a few years ago in Carmarthen. It’s a nice bass!
-
Sorry - I meant it would be nice if they had a wider nut option (to cope with my “daddy-long-legs” fingers). Most short scales seem to be 38mm, which cramps my hands.
