  1. That looks awesome! I suspect the scratch plate is a custom affair?
  2. Bought an EHX Bass Blogger from @BreadBinat the SW Bass Bash (cheers dude!). You are of course right, Brandon - the dual outs are perfect. Gone is the splitter, the bass goes in to the Bass Blogger, wet signal goes to the tuner so he can have clean or distorted bass, also mute the bass. Dry signal goes to the Sub’n’Up on up only (no dry signal at all) in to the Zoom for guitar-type distortions. Bloody marvellous! Still haven’t managed to get my Zoom back for my rig though 😂
  3. In a listening test at the SW bass bash, these were the best sounding. I see one in my future.
  4. That is sexual. I played one of Jabba’s other fretless semi hollows and it spoke to me. Bloody lovely. Congrats!
  5. Thank you @scrumpymike and family/friends - awesome day out with beautiful food and the best company! It was great to catch up with everyone. Emlyn loved his first bass bash, and is absolutely landed with his prize, so again, thank you @fiatcoupe432 for donating the bass and @yorks5stringerfor donating the gig bag to the draw! Also thank you @BreadBinfor the pedal. This means I get my own bass and zoom pedal back from the dark depths of the lad’s room! Played @wrinkleygit’s @Jabba_the_gut hollow-bodied fretless - I now “get” fretless! I need one (of Jabba’s) in my life, together with one of @stevie’s new cabs. What a combination that would be!!! Thank you everyone 🙏
  6. Cheers dude! Think I’m all spent for this month though 😂 (ssshhh, bring it just in case…)
  7. Well this is escalating quickly! Got the octave issue addressed courtesy of @ricksterphil. I need another tuner for me and some form of distortion for the kid so I can have my Zoom back 😂 The lad is pretty darn good at this bass stuff - he’s joined a local rock school club type thing (Rock Project), so hopefully will be gigging soon. So I’m answer to my original question; no, you can’t do RB sounds on the cheap 🤦🏻‍♂️

  9. How did I miss this?!?! Awesome as always, @Maude! Are you bringing any of your basses to the SW Bass Bash?
  10. Any more projects in the pipeline, @Maude? I love a good Maude build.
  11. The only reason I can see for building two is so you can also use them as an absolutely banging pair of hifi speakers. Unfortunately, Mrs Turgh does not share my vision.
  12. I can’t say I’ve ever felt that bad, but that is a top quote, and should be pinned somewhere. Or carved in to a stone tablet and visited by tourists.
  13. I have the chrome version of that, but it’s presently on my son’s pedal board, so I might need another. And that is a rather fetching colour! If it’s still unsold by the SWBB, I’ll take it off your hands.
  14. Guitar at one end, bits of the Clifton suspension bridge at the other. The strings on the left look about the same thickness as a dangerous snake. What tuning are they supposed to manage!?!? About 6hz?
  15. I’m no expert, maybe one or two notches past beginner, but I’d want the toms grouped a bit tighter together with the smallest tom positioned above the snare. Maybe pop the 8” & 12” on the bass drum and use a cymbal mount drum thing for the 13”?
  16. That looks perfect! Did you put the lollipops on yourself or are they standard on what ever model that is? Lollipops just work on everything!
  17. That do be nice. Are you doing the same to the front of the body?
  18. A very modest increase considering - happy to pay it! Will ping you some funds when I get paid Friday 👍
  19. 128dB?! Should do the trick!
  20. Sadly not mine, but I thought everyone would want to see it - on Ashdown’s Instagram the other day…
  21. Oh my gosh. Sorry to hear what you’ve been through. Glad you are ok, though. Things can be replaced.
  22. Some of the jags in the past were fitted with a Jazz style bell plate (the standard, nicely symmetrical one). Would the routing one these allow for fitting of such a plate?
