1. I thought the early 90s Epi were meant to have quite poor pickups?
2.
Not strictly digital but these might fit your criteria: http://voxamps.com/MV50
I tried the MV50 clean yesterday with a view to helping my guitarist go lightweight. Through my 1x10, I don't think it was quite loud enough to stay clean with our drummer. I think it's only 25W into 8 ohms. Tried the Orange micro Terror too, similar results. Don't get me wrong, I think they would both be loud enough if you don't want crispy clean sounds. The Vox is even small than you think its going to be!
3. Nice gig at the Jericho in Oxford. We played a short set, then the unusual Pink Diamond Revue, then we backed up the excellent Anton Barbeau, who went down a storm. The evening started with Laima Bite (pronounced Bitta, I think), a singer songwriter with a most enchanting voice, and dark songs. One of the regulars said it was the best Thursday in a year there.
4. I've acquired an old one from work, spec is: It's a core 2 duo E8400 @3GHz 64bit with 2 Gig ram currently. It's better than I thought, and small form too. Running W7 enterprise. It was free! I doubt I'll be using more than 16 tracks ever, nor loads of plugins either. Will intend to use my Zoom R24 as the audio interface. Does the collective wisdom think this will run something like Reaper or Sonar ok (may need more ram, I suspect) Thanks in advance for your thoughts....
5. One of the exclusions may be: Having a load of money and behaving like a total asshat does not mean you're insured when it all goes wrong.
6. Oops, a bit late getting this one up. Charms Against the Evil Eye, alongside Pink Diamond Revue, Laima Bite and, from Sacramento via Berlin, Anton Barbeau. We (Charms) will again be Mr. Barbeau's backing band. Modern psychedelic fun for all! Ms Bite is a singer/songwriter who has also produced and directed videos for Anton.
7. Cool! thanks for that!
8. Structures clearly built by aliens. There's a start!
9. Do they do a lithium ion battery in pp3 format?
10. OMG! It's a three way tie. I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!
11. That's my bum well and truly kicked! Thanks Douglas.
12. You're right, they are the most comfortable things to wear. I had 3 at one point!
13. I liked the play of the day, sometimes brought to notice things I'd missed on first listen. Still waiting for my back-reviews, when you feel up to it
14. I'm with you on this - it's the journey, not the destination. Like you, my ideas, especially for the drums, outstrip my ability to perform them by so far. One time I might get our drummer to play on one of them, that should be a quantum leap in performance quality!
15. Another thing I find about this challenge is that I tend to do it all very quickly (this month's was 1 session of about 3-4 hours, most of that trying to decide what to play on the drums, and how!), and not redoing any of the takes, and when I come to listen again some days or weeks later, it's almost as if I'm listening to work by someone else, which somehow makes it more interesting for me to listen to, as I can't remember much about the process, unlike recording demos with the band, where you get sick of the tune after all the overdubs and tweaking the mix. Is this just me or do others find this too? Apologies for the ridiculously long sentence above btw
16. The most difficult thing is definitely getting started. I find once you've got just any old thing down, the fleshing out process takes on a life of its own, that's why the picture is so useful, it gives that certain nudge.
17. Is it universal voltage input?
18. Which did you go for?
19. It's Mr. Alpha to you sonny! You're welcome. My bass has no scratchplate, so the routes are on display, so a super neat job was done, managed to not chip out any of the paint, he had t make his own templates too! I can't remember how much he charged, but I was happy to pay it, for the amount of work he must have put in.
20. Steve Kendall in East Hanney did a nice job re routing my Masters bass for emgs. He'd be ideal.
21. Sounds like someone lost an eye....
22. Don't beat yourself up about it! It's just a bit of fun and games (until someone loses an eye.... )
23.
Change your job.
That's easy for you to say! I actually love my job, and if I had any more distractions, I'd never get owt done. Who wouldn't love being hunched over a microscope all day, like today, for instance. Still haven't found my drumming skills yet though... maybe I need x20 eyepieces! By the way Dad, good job this month, my favourite of all your efforts to date. I've got 2 of my 3 sorted.
