  1. I'm not worthy! Maybe something psychedelic looking, like bits of the Mandelbrot Set?
  2. Well done sh73, must have been the whistling that swung it! Depending on yer outlook, we all came second :), or last! I'll take second, I think!
  3. Yeah, seems to be ok again.
  4. Dad's entry has disappeared! Replaced by JBPs.
  5. Just for the duration of the voting. I thought it didn't start that long ago, but my memory for such things isn't great!
  6. I've often wondered why the ferrule block isn't angled at about 45 degrees to give the strings an easier curve up to the bridge. Especially given the popularity of flats these days, that don't like sharp bends.
  7. Roughly where will the strap button go on this design?
  8. I thought they'd only just started doing it?
  9. Have we given up pinning these threads already?
  10. Well, here it is. More excuses for shoddy work this month, but this time I have a decent excuse! I'm recovering well, thanks for asking. I haven't been able to get into the studio or play drums, so I've nicked the drums off my band Charms Against the Evil Eye's tune called Oscar, and repurposed them. The rest was all done in the box, the box being a Zoom R24. Eggle Berlin Pro on the right, Godin Solidac left and Lead. Sei Flamboyant bass. EDIT: I mixed this only using the Studiospares 2000 headphones (see the other thread) and didn't get time to check on my monitors, or any other reference, for that matter. I think it came out ok-ish.
  11. Hadn't thought of a name for mine yet, maybe Mustang Harry?
  12. I've got something frantic on the go for this month. Had my workflow interrupted by a visit to hospital, but was able to get the bassline and second guitar down yesterday. Could have done with a few more days for a tune to brew, but at least I'll have a couple of extra free evenings this week since i can't play squash for my team or practice with the band. Silver linings, eh? !!
  13. I use an old credit card as a fret rocker. It's free and does the same job. I'd keep current ones away from the pickups though!
  14. That's the best body shape for fanned frets that I've come across. It's almost like they were designed for each other.
  15. You might wanna take some hearing protection too!
  16. Wow! ^ what a brutal drum sound! (The playing ain't too shabby either!) thanks for that
  17. I was just going to start a thread asking if Audacity was worth using for mixing and producing my recorded tracks? I have Audacity indoors, and Reaper out in my studio space that is too small/badly laid out to be comfortable for sitting spending hours on the learning curve. I would be using my Zoom R24 as the interface, but don't have monitors indoors. I've only spent long enough on Reaper to get the interface set up, and by he time i'd done that, was too exhausted (mentally) to get into it again. Not done any mixing in Audacity, but it seems simple enough even for a novice like me.
  18. I didn't know that - can you say who they build for?
  19. So there isn't really a problem? So glad I ploughed through 8 pages of this.
  20. There's a touch of the Tokai Talbo shape about the " modified" body. Good luck with the repair, it looks quite severe!
  21. The veneer and finishing looks amazing in these photos, but i think the scratchplate design could still do with a tweak. For a harmonious flow it would be nice to follow the body shape somewhat equidistant from the edges and flowing up slightly into the upper and lower horns. I hope I've explained my meaning, I know a picture is worth a thousand words etc., but I'm no artist
  22. Luminlay do some nice numbered controls now too! Just sayin'.
  23. I assume the line "wiping off the excess" implies oil is still used at this stage.
  24. Servisol switch cleaner works well. This is probably all it needs. You'll need to get the case open to get at the pot properly. Working the pot back and forth multiple times often works just as well, or at least find more usable positions.
