  1. It reminds me of Kryten: http://www.google.co.uk/url?q=http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/kryten/images/19990779/title/kryten-photo&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiHx-no8sPgAhUOTBUIHQxbA1IQwW4IJjAI&usg=AOvVaw04GDpw_1sVAp3sfk7Uwlnd
  2. I've used these very things, work a treat for shiny frets.
  3. Or drop a gauge of strings?
  4. You could buy a heavier gauge b string.
  5. How about something useful like a low battery indicator?
  6. As biro ink is oil based, a higher fraction like petrol or lighter fuel should dissolve it.
  7. Who wouldn't want a bass called Brian?
  8. So those pickups would be considered ceramic as opposed to alnico, or indeed neodymium.
  9. I've just set up a 4003 for a work colleague. Managed to get the action low enough, but it did seem to run out of travel on the G side. Fortunately, I has the right sized tool for the truss rods, or that could have been awkward. And with the action set low, the intonation screws are inaccessible! What kind of nitwit came up with that as a design choice? Oh, and the bridge tail end has started to lift off the body. The fretwork was good, and felt good to play though, so not entirely bad, by any means!
  10. That's probably just currency conversion from their currency local to where they were made, sorry, breathed into life, the currency being the Papua New Guinean Trundle. Probably. Or the Kow-Pat.
  11. You mean a tapered reamer for opening holes out. ^
  12. I don't think there's too much wrong with the Select pickups. I've had both the jazz style and the guitar humbucker sized ones in the jack basses, and they sounded fine. I have the 35hz pickups in my current fretted bass, and I don't think they have as much output as the humbuckers but tonally are similar, ie. pretty neutral, clean sounding.
  13. Different in what way?
  14. Nice job. Which pedal connectors did you use? (Not the power ones)
  15. Lovely grain texture showing through.
  16. The Blackstar beam is just the sort of thing. It isn't very loud for bass, but keeps the speakers under control using quite intelligent compression baked in. Has good sounding reverb echo and modulation effects, and the Bluetooth thing too. Got mine for £119 when Maplins went bust, not sure what they go for now.

  18. Kinda messes with your head watching how he pops the high string!
  19. Groovy. I wonder if he gets his gear nicked a lot, maybe in the past. ..
  20. I've only seen red ones in the flesh. Was sunburst the only other option?
  21. That name rings a bell from my youth. Was there a connection to 64 Spoons, or the Watford area?
  22. And a sweet Hofner Verithin like @dad3353 's
