  1. I last went to Skegness in about 1982 where I won 2nd? prize in a Dad and his Lad competition - a novelty soap shaped like a foaming tankard of ale and some chocolate. That week the monorail broke down and a few dozen people were stuck for several hours in mid-air. Happy times!!
  2. I know what you mean. I only play at home and got rid of my TE 250 watt amp. I really don't need this. *sits on twitchy hands*
  3. I was in a band very briefly at Uni - last millennium - but I've never gigged. I don't think I could do it, I'm anxious just thinking about it!!
  4. I think the technical answer to the switching was on talkbass. Unless it's here and I have forgotten: the cable requirements for three way would have meant you couldn't just use any lead for the foot switch if you turned up to play without one. Also cost I guess. If you really want to switch distortion you might need to keep one of the pedals and have that on your loop...
  5. Thanks for the info - my question was genuine (for a change) rather than a complaint. I am very taken with the idea of the amp, and was just considering cab options. As it happens I would probably only ever get one cab: but this way I could get two 8 or 4 Ohm cabs, and the DG amp would still cope. *goes to check Maths on 1x 8 & 1x 4 Ohm cab...
  6. Dim question - 900w @4ohm, but only one speaker output - so you couldn't get 2 8 ohm cabs into it? It would need to be one decent rated cab to make use of that power?
  7. I think I meant High F. I can't remember now (counts semitones slowly). My witter was more concerned with being able to hear what's being played. Low F is just rumbling to me!
  8. Source Audio Orbital Modulator: does Flange, Vibe, Chorus and Phaser - it's epic.
  9. To be fair, that is what a lot of DG users probably want, a pedal with power...
  10. Low F?! blimey, that must be a steel cable on there. I thought it was strung for a high F# instead - more useful! Nice bass though, lovely.
  11. Spirit of Radio is a bit 'what?!' for a pub crowd - they should stick to rocker tracks that sound cool without obviously showing off: i.e. half the stuff from Test for Echo or something older like Vital Signs or Limelight.
  12. Cool idea - will check it out. Do you just search for the playlist and add yourself to it?
  13. They do nicer colours - Lambo Orange, Seca Blue, Ferrari Red, some sort of violent Green, and White too. They are nice, although I think I prefer the standard Combustion. It's not just the NGs that are made in China - all the Combustions are - the NGs are just a sub-model of the Combustion range. They even share the same pickup rout under the scratchplate to save on cost.
  14. Grr! Now I must practice even more!!
  15. Well - it is an import, so yeah, pricey. (Thanks, 52%). They look cool though, lots of info and hype about them on the other side of the pond. Tempted to have a try, eventually. Or wait 'til someone decides to flog it because they need more Heft.
  16. Qwik Tuner for sale. Works for Guitar and Bass - in both manual (choose string) and auto settings. Works fine, obviously not as flash as modern versions! It has In and Out ports so it can sit in a chain. I've had this for 15+ years; only changed the first battery a few years ago. Got a Polytune Clip for my birthday so this is finally surplus. Will take £10 inc UK Postage. It's pocket-sized and light.
  17. I've been after one of those for ages - but yeah, it's missing a string!
  18. Awesome tone, lovely bass lines. Did I say awesome tone?!
  19. Have a bump on me. I had the separates - fabulous kit.
  20. You're still liking the Head then?!
