  1. Not a very old one, but resonates recently: Possibility Days by Counting Crows. Very emotional stuff. (A lot of Adam's lyrics hit those spots for me actually.)
  2. +1 for Timbo. He has awesome tone and feel. Just listening to The Long Run album and he just oozes awesomeness with perfect note placement and the odd half-fill under the geetars.
  3. Bump of bumping.
  4. Bumptastic.
  5. I have a Peavey Millennium passive - J type; really good range of noises, lovely neck. Only pain is neck dive from the pointy head.
  6. Well - digressing to Sticks: they are lovely - and tone is what you make of it, and what effects you whack on it. Check out anything by Tony Levin, or Warr guitarists like Trey Gunn.
  7. Oh - you should hear me despoil any of 50 Geddy Lee or Dave Ellefson riffs in Bass Shops. Don't worry what people might think - it has to be better than a lot of the slapityslapityslap you hear.
  8. If the 4 sells well I'm sure the 5 will follow.
  9. Nice...
  10. Yeah - with Malcolm out of action permanently, the previous drummer (long-serving) fired, and now this - there's not much left! Angus will probably keep going 'til that SG falls apart..
  11. It looks nice - and yeah, some bits will change after feedback from the show and fans etc. Sure -terrible access to top frets -but it wouldn't be a proper take if you could noodle up to 24 with ease. If it does get the combustion pricing it well sell like hotcakes.
  12. You can get them fretless - Steven Gibson got a 6 string unlined fretless - he is mad though. I also think it's still the case that even though the licence expired, Dingwall still pay Novax (or his estate) a fee for each instrument. Correct me if I'm manufacturing randomness. Yes - eagerly awaiting the Dingbird. They need to do a Ding-Bongo (which is a bit like a drink we used to have as kids), and then maybe a Dingberger (headless, tiny body), heck, perhaps even a Ding Paul SG-shape.
  13. You can play chords on them, You're just not trying hard enough!
  14. Foo Fighters - In Your Honour. Works for me. As does Topographic Oceans, and largely, Physical Graffiti.
  15. Victory by Megadeth references about half of their previous song titles...
  16. Now that is a piece of amazing. What tuning is it in currently - fifths?
  17. Holy contrabass noodlings, Batman. That is cheap. Almost worth getting to see if you like 6-strings. Even if you lose a chunk reselling it's a fairly good value experiment. The deluxe is about twice the price, still good value, looks really nice too.
  18. I have been waiting for it since they announced it well over a year ago. I'm not paying £250 for it though - it can wait a bit longer...
  19. Wa-gon Wheel-y have to try harder to beat the last few...
  20. Am all out of Fig (rolls) for this now. I have a THR for my guitar and it's very nice, lots of features, good sound, light etc. Like the B Social it isn't to replicate your gig rig (although I don't have one, so it is actually my main guitar amp..) So I can see that any limitations it might have need to be taken with that in mind. But £600?! I paid £219 for my THR, and I could see the B Social justifying more because it has a few extra bits like wireless playback etc, but £600?! I presume it makes toast too for this price?
  21. 3mm on my Peavey - I have had to put relief back into the neck because there's some definite uneven frets going on around 3-6 and it just chokes even with the bridge saddles at full height. Now I have the saddles in the middle of their range, and only a touch of buzz when I play. It does depend how you learned to play: I couldn't use my amp at any sort of volume for years as it would annoy flatmates etc. so I really dig in to make myself heard. If I had the action down at 2mm It'd be buzz city. I do like the clank though.
  22. Source Audio Dimension Reverb.
  23. Reduced to £80, and Bump!
