  1. Headstock shapes don’t seem to be Schecter’s strong point. Don’t like the Banshee’s (terrible name) or any others shown here. 👎
  2. Westones were incredibly good instruments for the money. My brother had both fretted and fretless basses which I borrowed regularly.
  3. That’s a lovely looking piece of maple.
  4. What no matching guitars?
  5. How about this, not known for playing Violin basses, but Entwistle had one mid 60’s and his was an early model.
  6. Sitting at home, as most of us have to, I noticed that my basses and guitars follow themes. I am sure that out there are collections of all blacks or matching red strats and precisions soo thought it would be fun to start a matched guitar and bass theme. The Taylors and the Gibson are much closer in real life, the photo makes the Gibson looker paler than it is. Then there are the sunbursts (there is also an amberburst but no matching guitar.
  7. I have a Spectorcore Fretless 5 too. Excellent bass for the money.
  8. Don’t often see these in black rather than the orange.
  9. Not bad finish for a cheapie!
  10. This makes a change to my 5 stringers.
  11. If you can the G&L is a steal. Alternative to the Vintage is the Revelation normally about £299 I think. Alan Entwistle pu. Gets great reviews.
  12. I bet you had to pay more than the $599 on the original docket!
  13. Yes it is but it happened really quickly on these Selmer resprays. There is an article on Reverb about it and some of the reds came out pink.
  14. Well that deserves a slot in the “Best looking P Bass “ thread. Much nicer than most of the ones shown there so far.
  15. Didn’t Selmer confuse the situation by respraying sunburst models red, (because of the Shadows’ red strats) and these were the ones that ended up a kind of salmon pink.
  16. When you spend that sort of money n a bass you have a right to expect it to be right. You need to complain to Ibanez. Also your retailer should have checked too.
  17. My 1996 USA 5 string bass also had that 5 on one side headstock but with spaghetti logo and small Jazz Bass lettering.
  18. I can’t believe that gallery of violin shaped basses! So many, but I wonder how many of them are the same bass just badged differently?
  19. Thanks for the T-cut tip. It worked a treat.
  20. Excellent looker! Lollipop tuners - yum.
  21. Chas Chandler (The Animals) jack Bruce (Cream) Dave Bronze (Eric Clapton) Dave Markee (Eric Clapton)
  22. All the prices seem somewhat optimistic.
  23. Used to have an Olympic White fretless Fender P which was great ( should never had sold it). Never tried a tort pickguard on it but I should have ‘cos I really like ‘em.
  24. Be nice to see the rest then!
  25. So looking for string advise. I’d like to get flatwounds but I’ve read that some short scale strings are too short for the Hofner because of the extra distance between the bridge and the tailpiece. It said in some makes you need medium scale but didn’t say which! Presumably Hofner strings fit but any others that anyone can recommend?
