  1. Took the best picture I can - it plays amazing still but would have preferred it not to have been like that! Haven’t got the confidence to try and refinish it myself!
  2. I’ve been debating getting the neck re finished for a while in all honesty! Is it an easy enough job for someone that hasn’t done it before with the oil and wool?
  3. The neck was sanded down by the previous owner (for his personal preference in how the neck felt - which is why I got a decent deal on it when I got it) - I changed the strap locks myself to Ernie balls (so I can easily swap guitars but use the same strap) but do still own the originals! I can relatively safely assume this wasn’t a separate body put with the neck then really?
  4. I got a Japanese PB-62 as part of a trade a few years back and have never had the opportunity to try any others - the guitar plays and sounds incredible however I have always wanted to double check it against another (purely due to it being a 1993/94 dated Japanese guitar - and it’s difficult to find much info online). Beneath the neck joint on the body is a date of 1-6-94 which appears hand written and no other markings I can see (this matches the serial). What I’m primarily trying to do is check to see if this is the original body for the neck (potentially based on the pots which I’ve attached pictures of?) - if anyone has any good Fender Japan knowledge from this period especially with the re-issues?.
  5. https://ibb.co/Tvb56pz I’m after some advice about the serial number on this MIJ standard jazz bass - there is some damage around the bottom of the headstock which due to the year (1988) is understandable however the decal looks to be stuck on aftermarket?. Is this normally expected as the remainder of the decals (the logo etc) appear perfectly - any advice appreciated. I’m wondering whether it’s genuine and was standard for the fujigen basses at the time, or the sticker has been applied afterwards?. thanks
  6. Yes built into the bridge - you can turn that off entirely or blend the two together!
  7. It plays really nicely other than there aren’t any contours where the arm rests! It’s the first one I’ve ever seen!
  8. What’s peoples opinions on this?. Recently picked up as I’d never seen one before and thought he looked really unique.. the neck plays great and the lace sensors actually sound really nice!. 1989 made in Japan and can’t see much else online about them!. What would people think about trying it out in a band setting (never used anything like it before!).
  9. I’d never seen one before, the neck plays beautifully and it barely weighs anything.. no contours on the body though which might make it uncomfortable on the arm if played for a period of time..
  10. What’s peoples opinions on the Fender HMT (1989 model with the hockey stick headstock). Recently picked one up as had never seen one before and wanted it to try it out!. Has anyone used anything like it as part of a band, and what’s peoples experience with the lace sensors like?.
  11. I am looking for some advice on a PRS kestrel Bass - with the hipshot bridge (4 string) - I have bought it used and am looking to restring it however it is currently strung through the body as opposed to through the bridge itself. What are the main differences between the two and should I restring it through the body again or through the back of the bridge?. Any advice is appreciated!
