  1. Try 'The Circle' group on Facebook. Someone on there can probably help
  2. +1...that's pretty much me too! Sometimes a glass of wine of the Mrs has left any that is
  3. Welcome It won't take long for your GAS to return on this forum Lurking....what a great word!
  4. Imagine 2 of em linked up to a big valve head! There's just one word................HEFT!
  5. Welcome WaveyDavey Some very lovely basses you have there Sir!
  6. I had a Sire m7 5 string for 5 minutes and then moved it on as I couldn't get on with a 5 string neck. Good bass though, especially for the money (knobs are naff tho) And welcome Dorsetbod....this is a fantastic forum with great folk on it. It generally costs much dosh though when the GAS takes over. Are you familiar with La Caverna in Dorchester.....one of my favourite restaurants. Me and Mrs Ricksterphil have had a couple of holidays in Dorset and love it down there. The aforementioned Mrs R waxes lyrical about the Zabaglione served up by La Caverna
  7. I think I'm right in saying that the Artic Monkeys borrowed a guitar amp (think it was a Vox) off someone's Dad when they started and hadn't returned it by the time they were famous and on the radio (which is where I heard this anecdote) And to Oldman for having played the Cavern....well cool! I'd lend someone my gear for a gig if I was a) also performing at said gig, which I've done or b) going to be at said gig (not done that). If they wanted to borrow my bass I'd lend them my £50 Jap Special (Hurricane by Morris) which is a decent bass to be fair especially for the money. My Mike Lull or T-Bird...no way Jose!
  8. My main bass - a Mike Lull jazz - because it's light, fits me nicely, has the right neck width (40mm), and I can change the sound on the fly from the pre-amp My other bass, a 2015 T-Bird, because it's light, plays very fast and looks soooo cool, despite the odd playing stance required (you'll know what I mean if you've played one - kinda 'angry gorilla having a dump' stance) My rig - EBS HD360 through two 12inch Bergs - it''s fairly light, has a great neutral 'hifi' sound and the amp goes up to 11 I have the amp in a 3u rack case with a korg 'pitchblack' rack tuner which can be set to do a strobe light effect...which is also way cool!
  9. I keep my eye on our singer as she is prone to prancing about a lot (good thing) and then flinging her arms out and catching me on the noggin (bad thing).
  10. Sold a Fea Labs compressor to Simon. Easy transaction and no hassle
  11. I'd love to try one out. I had a SWR 4x8 for a while and that was epic
  12. Traded a Quilter Bass Block for an EBS HD360 with Paul. Top bloke, no hassle and the parcel was very well wrapped!
  13. Pluck me! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWR-HENRY-THE-8X8-speakers/142727641130?hash=item213b3af82a:g:1eIAAOSw5E9asALh Come on, you know you want one.......dude has 3 ferchrissake
  14. 'Ooh shiney....'' 'I'm sure that will make me a better player....' 'WANT ONE WANT ONE WANT ONE.......'
  15. Great idea...there's something similar in the Pirate Studios we use, but it's hung on the wall. My man cave / practice / music room is usually a sh*t tip, so I'll be borrowing this one!
  16. Bath once a week?....I'd give her the heave-ho if I were you!
  17. This sums it up for me I promise you it's worth watching...
  18. Lovely. I have one of Mike's Jazz basses and it's fantastic. Sadly I can hear my Mrs sharpening the skinning knife as I just even contemplate buying this beauty
