1. I've not been overly keen on the DG take on grit/dirt/grind before, and I always thought their pedals were quite highly priced (and usually that isn't something I comment on). The small/high powered amp market is becoming very crowded!
2. Nice idea but it needs turning up! I can barely hear the amp.
3.
Just quoting the Darkglass latest advert for the Microtubes B3K Assembled in Finland (by experienced, fully covered and well paid builders) Expanded Attack switch functionality UK sourced PCB (kept processes in EU, assembled in UK using best components available in market) New Bypass System, spring actuation switch mechanism rated for 1 million cycles Unibody chassis made in Helsinki. carved out of a single aluminium block. Or you could have a pedal assembled in the Far East.........?
Just not keen on the sound of their grind/tube grit. It's well made kit but extremely expensive for a drive/DI, and I'm not one to stay away from things just because they are expensive.
4. The Jag guitars (sold out) were a huge bargain.
5.
Cant wait until Behringer bring out a more affordable alternative ;-)
Probably be £8 and just as good hahah!
6. I do think the Tech 21 and Darkglass prices sometimes get a little silly, and I own Tech 21 stuff.
7. I'm reserving judgement on these until at least 6 months into release. No point if you just play bass, but good if you also play guitar. The bass stuff seems added on. It does seem super expensive for a Line 6 product when Fender have proved you can almost get a 65 Deluxe sound in a £211 modelling Fender Mustang III V2. I'm guessing their R&D costs were pretty high.
8.
Thanks for the Amazon tip, just bought one, £23.97 free delivery !! John
Always good to check Amazon for effects pedals etc. These are £35 from usual music shop retailers.
9. I'm still considering one but I want a Fender Jag guitar. Decisions!!!
10. I've noticed it more with effects pedals. I tried some expensive compressors. Which one worked for me? Boss LMB-3. Effects pedals are so fun, and I own more expensive pedals, but it's always great to get a good EHX pedal for like £60 and it be a better tone, despite the fact it might not be quite as well built or handmade. I don't really need super high end amps. The normal bass brands plus those that aren't super pricey like Genz serve me well.
11. I play more guitar nowadays, and the Mrs just got back into bass playing with a nice Gibson SG short scale bass. She wants a new tuner so I've suggested this and said I'd put cash in so I can borrow it. Turns out it's only £25 on Amazon!!!!
12.
Has there be an announcement by now who the dealers are going to be in the UK?
Bassdirect I believe.
13. How much?!?! The 50 is gig worthy but that is a lot of money.
14. Orange Terror Bass from Thomann.
15.
Stop posting. I really miss mine (apart from the hot DI) and I'm skint.
They even fixed the DI.
16. I quite like tweaking but this is overkill for me. Seems to only really make sense if you have Berg cabs.
17. I've just got one and I like it. Read the manual for info re clean boost/overdrive. Love how EHX make age pedals for £40-100!
18. I can usually use TC Electronic RS210 x 1 for rehearsing with bands. I've just signed up to two bands from a hiatus of mainly playing learning and playing guitar, but back into bass full swing soon. As I've got a VW Beetle a 1x10 that can handle a rehearsal would make my life easier! I've used Ampeg 1x15 combos before for rehearsals (at the room) with a 3-4 piece band and had no probs. These bands won't be any louder.
19. As great as I want it to be, I can't help but thinking it's a bit boring and it has already been done (apart from 2 ohms but I'd never need it). Not sure why they wanted a voicing pot that just adds a mid scoop?!
20. How would this stand up to a 3-4 person band practice?

Just picked up an EHX Small Stone Nano. Very creamy, swirly, and warm. Lovely!
23. Jees, for £80 this little Roland is brilliant. Even the modelled higher gain guitar amps sound good. What a wonderful era of technology we live in. Old 1-15 W solid state amps used to be absolutely awful and weigh twice as much as you'd expect.
24. To be fair, nowt sounds like an Ampeg 8x10, especially behind you at pretty much full pelt, even with ear protection in. It might be a big old heavy design but it works.
25. OK, so the new Yamaha THR 100 HD isn't my thing, and way too loud. BUT, the THR10 is going to be revised soon apparently. As they aren't that cheap for small home practice, I decided to go ultra small/low wattage with lots of versatility: Roland Cube 10GX - works with bass, guitar and acoustic guitar. It's pretty basic but the amp is small, quiet and light. Perfect for home playing/recording, and no crazy price tag, (let's face it, I'd rather have the money invested in things that are gig worthy). £80 delivered! Arrives tomorrow (hopefully).
