This pedal looks great. More so for my guitar playing...and will basically give me everything I want in one box! My main Q is, is it exactly the same as the DL4 as in has all the DL4s effects and does exactly as the DL4 does? Cheers

Plus Ive sold my car to move to London and share the girlfs....but eventually she will sell hers as well. Tube is the future. Over the past 5-6 years ive barely bought any gear, then this year I went mad. I think because I discovered I could buy/sell well on here and also find the 'right' gear much quicker.

Hi chaps/ladies Ive been scouting about for another bass to use as my main bass. Ive used my MIJ Precision for years, and loved it. It still virtually looks new...but is now sold. I wanted to get a USA Fender model to replace it, to use as my main gigging bass. Ive found a J and P at a good price new, its just deciding which work 'best' as a main bass. Use my other basses you say? Oh I will, but not as often. I intend to swap between them every now and then. But, whilst the new Fenders are on a bit of a roll, and theyve finally sorted the problems of QC out (mostly!) I thought why the hell not get one whilst ive got a good quote. Ive sold a fair amount of gear so I can just afford it. Its got to be Olympic White + Tort guard, and rosewood always seems to 'look' better with constant use. I just cannot decide whether to get the Jazz or Precision. I love both tones! Im thinking the Precision might be best for just getting to a gig, plugging in, and having no issues cutting through, even though that Jazz tone is amazing. If I go for P, i'd have two P's, one J, one 5 string J when it turns up, and 2 Stingrays. Overkill? Yes, but you only live once. A lot cheaper than buying a high end car and watching it depreciate really quickly! In my situation, which would you go for? The P or the J? I cant see a downfall with either of them. They BOTH work well for me. (I did consider other basses, but after losing money experimenting with other types of basses, and Fender Deluxe / P+J Fenders, I want to stick with what I like and I know works!)

If you feed them with a tube amp, or something with a quality tube-pre, you will love them even more. I have to say, ive tried lighter cabs, and Ive liked them. But, the weight/size difference wasnt enough for me, unless you are talking about the larger cabinets, like a 4x10. The Orange 4x10 is sooo heavy, but that 1x15 isnt that bad (65lbs), and its quite 'compact' compared to others ive used. The size is a massive part of what bugs me with cabinets, not so much the weight. I will end up with a lightweight setup in time, but Ill also be keeping my traditional cabinets.

Luckily I should be based down south for the next one. No idea how Ill get some of my gear there, but plenty of time to arrange that

I was actually thinking this today. Ive just sold my MIJ 62 Reissue P and the white paint on that still looks great after 14 years! Im going to get a new American Series Precision or Jazz to have as my main live/gigging bass, and I wanted to know which would 'last' the best and age well, but mine is more about colours. After a few PMs, it seems white is a good colour, plus it looks awesome. Black seems to show every single tiny mark so easier...so im probably steering away from that. Plus, Im all about white or sunburst if Im honest. Anyone want to pitch in? Cheers

Problem is, my hardcases are big. The new Fender cases are very protective, but large!

If I could get a flightcase version fairly cheap I would...perfect combo. I think the Mesa Walkabout is probably more my thing though.

I much prefer lower wattage guitar amps so you get them to their sweet spot easier.

Keep the EQ flat first, and experiment with the two end knobs....VLE and VPF. I always seem to end up leaving the EQ. What bass are you using?

Some Marshall Bass amps on those live UK vids. Basically, I want to play in a dirty heavy rock band with hardcore influences...lots of bass runs and cranked tubes. Guitaist would not be allowed any of this ESP stuff...

A massive part of the GJ sound is a pure passive P bass, with stainless strings and the mids sucked. I could ALMOST get it with my MIJ and my old Trace head...but it lacked the dirt. Now I have a tube amp I need to re-establish that awesome Glassjaw tone.
