From the sounds of it, that's all the stock there is... I would have loved a combo, but I've got the Walkabout Scout. Don't need one.... still want one, though.
I dont need one...but at £499...for a 2x10 with that amp built in....mmmm! Its that or the S212....but ive read some unpositive reviews on the new S212....mind you that doesnt mean a thing nowadays..could have been a duff unit.

Hmm Thanks guys I just had a look to see if they had a 2x10 8ohm cab to match it...seems its just 4 ohm cabs. Hmmm....I really don't know whether to just get a mega cheap 2x12 thats uber light or the 2x10 combo now! The 2x10 is a better value deal....but the 2x12 cab is 4 ohms and my LM3 would be great with it. Its also the Small version, which is what Id want ideally.
The 2x10 combo is running an 8 ohm internal load, so you'd need an 8 ohm extension cab to get the 500w.
I dont understand...the info says its 4 ohms...yet it doesnt confirm it. I need to double check. Model: Puma Combo 210 Configuration: 2 x 10” TecAmp LE10-65 4 ohms THIS BIT Preamp: solid state preamp with gain, taste, lo, lomid, himid, hi, master controls, switchable mute, DI pre/post, XLR balanced DI out, 1 x effects loop, tuner out, line out, line in Power Amp: Class D amplifier, 320 w; 500 w / 4 ohms Power supply: switching power supply Cooling: high quality temperature controlled fan Tweeter: 1 x NTM-1 hi-mid speaker with double Neodym magnet system 4” cone Freq. Response: 35-18.000 Hz Dimensions (W x H x D): 44 x 65 x 41 cm; 17” x 25,5” x 16” Weight: 20,5 kg / 46 lbs
Did anyone on here bag one of the 2x12 combos?
Im thinking of the 2x10 if its 4 ohms...itll stop me gassing for a Walkabout 1x12 for a bit
-
Am I right in thinking the combo is a 2x10 with a Puma 500 inside for £500 new?!?!?!? I hope its 4 ohm...Itll be much better for my small gigs.
-
Should i get the 2x10 combo or the 2x12 cab?!?!?!??! QUICKKKK
-
Jeeeees! Im going to have to get the cc out right now. Im not missing these prices. Are they BRAND new items....not used?
-
Forgot to add I bought a guitar amp-cab cable from Dave. Good price and excellent quality. Now ALL of my cables are OBBM.
-
If you want 4 12s, but in an easier/optional format, get two DB212s like me. Even one at 8ohms is DAMN loud, not only that, a really good tone.
-
Pics? Im pretty sure most rosewood boards have varying colours all over them, not just one consistent colour.
Yeah they said I should try a head through a separate cab or two. There are so many heads to choose from though, I don't know where to start.
Whats your budget?

My second 09 MIA P Bass....bought from Clarky. Absolutely mint, with the option of stock guard or this black one. Awesome bridge, brilliant new style necks, very precise tuners, excellent new cases. Somehow, it sounds better than the earlier series P's that I tested.
-
Boss Tuner + sometimes the Sansamp or Tonehammer. I dont use anything else, and some small gigs I just go into the amp. I dont like to get away from the natural sound of the bass. Too many effects is just annoying.

Have to admit they are very nice amps. Shockingly loud and full sounding!

This looks awesome Dave! You have really made it you own. Id love to hear it.

Pedal Swop Sansamp BDDI for Aguilar Tone Hammer
Musicman20 replied to alexisonfire's topic in Effects
I have both. Main difference is the Aguilar is more powerful overall. It doesnt have the Ampeg-ish type grit, it has a different style of distortion, but very very good! So...owning both is a good move. The TH is really good just as a preamp as well, and then you can whack on the grit. Both very good, TH more versatile though. -
Fender Jazz and Precision, New American Standard (2009)
Musicman20 replied to Musicman20's topic in Basses
I have now bought another 09 Precision, this time second hand from Clarky. I had to sell my old faithful MIJ P Bass though Anyway, again, this 09 Series is great. Clarky as put TI Flats on the bass, and Im shocked at how nice they are to play. Even with flats, the Bass sounds punchy and raw, but roll back the tone and you get perfect P Bass thump to match the flats. The bridge/case are yet again brilliant. I noticed just how tight and precise the tuners are today as well. Thats a huge plus for me. This is a rosewood board, Olympic White with optional Fender black pickguard and the Tort stock as an option. Got to say, the rosewood co,lour is fantastic, and yet again the rolled fingerboard work brilliantly. Another top Fender! -
Same as mine apart from the board.

What's the 'bass of the moment' for you?
Musicman20 replied to OutToPlayJazz's topic in Bass Guitars
USA Fender Precision 62 Reissue - white....POSSIBLY sunburst. USA Fender Jazz 75 Reissue - I want it in a colour other than natural, even though I quite like natural! Next year....I'm going to try and get them. -
DJ5/JO5 Laklands were the first 5 string basses that really felt comfortable. Stingray 5's are damn nice too.
Touchy question - didn't quite get it from the original post - are you and your GF going to keep it going long-distance, or has she left you to go do this job in London? If the former - up sticks and move down there with her. Completey get out of the scene you're currently in and find a whole new thing. Sure there's plenty of musos in London you could get together with. The idea of staying in the sh*t bands you're currently in to try and recoup your invested cash is bad for two reasons. 1) Don't ever play just for the cash. (Unless you're a full-time pro of course, but the quality of bands you're talking about don't give that impression even if that's what you want to be doing). 2) You'll just end up putting more into it and end up financially worse, unless you splashed a stack on recording a GREAT demo which is now getting you agent & management interest and gigs are starting to flood your way. Then you'd recoup. Even if your GF is now definitely ex (if so, sorry to hear about it) a completely fresh start in a new town could be a great thing. Life is short. Carpe diem!
+1 Good advice -
Keep it as it was stock....itll sell better when you (if you) decide to move it on Lots of people use the GK heads without the GK cabs.

Boss TU2 or Korg Pitchblack My preference is the TU2 though. Borrowed one for a few weeks, loved it, bought my own.
How long before the Shuttle Max 9.0 comes out, dou you reckon? Would seem to be the logical way to go. In fact, it would be more logical than the 12.0.
Hey Well, UK shops are taking pre-orders and saying a few weeks. I reckon we are looking at a month but thats fine with me....means I can have more money saved up! Its definitely more logical than the 12.0 for me....I prefer that it powers a 8 ohm cab with the 500W and is so small! All my cabs apart from the Berg are 8 ohms and mid sized, so this little amp is perfect for showing their true potential as stand alone 8 ohm cabs.
Moving is often a good option - I've experienced similar phases in the past - the first place I moved after college was to Oxford (after signing on for 18 months in my small hometown!) I got out to lots of jam sessions and as I moved with a musician who had already lived there I got hooked up with quite a few jobbing bands - I was very busy with gigs for a couple of years - and also joined a band in London as the Oxford Tube coach service was a cheap way to schlep back and forth from there - and I have to say I've not looked back since - there are lots of opportunities out there - you just have to go and grab them yourself and not always wait for them to come to you... Go for it Cheers Mike
+1 Sometimes its time to pack it up and move on. I kinda wish my home band would just fold and give up so I dont leave and regret it in a few years. But, its taken about 5-6 months to write 2 new songs, and thats just not good enough for me. Plus, our crowd of fans have now moved on to pastures new, and they wont be coming back very often. Theyve all got new bands as well in their new towns. Ill miss my drummer, a lot. Hes fantastic....Im hoping later in life I will be in another band with him. But, sometimes a risky move is the RIGHT move. I hope anyway!
