1. Even though ive not yet met Clarky, we are in a transaction at the moment and he is ultra helpful and friendly!
2. If you are intending to slap....dont go for the HH....you have to adjust your technique as you have a lot less room. I tested the new HH's and they have a lot of tonal options, but for me the classic H is just exactly what Im looking for. I couldnt get the exact Stingray tone from a HH, but that could have been a number of things causing that. I'd like a Sterling with H + S though!
3.
Many Thx for all your replies , I really appreciate your advise. I think i will take up stevefletch59s offer of listening to the Bergantino HS410 first and see how it sounds. And then possibly a trip to Matamp in Meltham and see what they have. Not really bothered too much about cab weight. I may have to consider getting a more powerful amp though If I was to go for the Bergantino HS410. I bought the Hartke 3500 head about 5 years ago and to be honest I have never had the chance to listen to anything else .It has been a good and reliable head. Once again many thx to you all..
The HS410 is incredible!
4.
+1 from me on the Stingrays, like them so much I got two!
+1 Same here.... Classic tone. The neck is very comfortable, and ive not got large hands. The best things about the 'Ray are: The style, the brilliant position for resting your thumb on the pickup, and the awesome powerful cutting tone.
5.
Ngggarrghhhhh (resist, resist!!!!)
+1 I bet this is awesome....but I have no room Or money!
6. One thing to think about, which swayed me massively with the Ampeg SVT CL, is that its 4 ohms. I dont always use a 4 Ohm cab!
7.
i blame the ashdown cabs.
+1
8. I agree. He seems like a top bloke. Just wish he had a better Jazz tone! But, good on him!
9. These guys have come quite far to get Fender signature instruments....bet thats quite an epic feeling. As much as I like bass a lot more, im not as into the bass in Biffy as I am the awesome Strat sound.
10. Good quality OBBM cables are the best option
11.
Probably won't make it to the bash! I am planning to go to the Matamp factory though on Thursday. I might feel my empty wallet cry just a little bit
Im avoiding that place until I have £1500 saved up. Then im off to ask them to make the coolest looking amp ever....simple as that. Has to be ridiculous, dirty, and full of awesome tone
12. Please delete!
13. Whoops, slightly pointless. Looks like its sold already!
14. Hi guys This is all boxed, still bagged, instructions not even properly read! I just dont have much time for guitar and effects at the moment. Everyone knows how good the delay is on this thing....amazing! This is in brand new unused condition, never gigged, hence the price. Included is the Official Line 6 Power Supply....which is £20 in some shops. £160 + P&P for the lot. No need for pics really, as its brand new. Everything with it, bank tranfer please. EDIT: May be sold...update later. Cheers

This pedal looks great. More so for my guitar playing...and will basically give me everything I want in one box! My main Q is, is it exactly the same as the DL4 as in has all the DL4s effects and does exactly as the DL4 does? Cheers
18. Thats a lovely looking instrument. What a colour!
19.
I'd spend some time gigging with the J and P you have now, and see which one you feel suits your sound the best, and call it that way. If you're looking for something to be your long term 'main' instrument, you're in the lucky position of having your two top choices already, so take your time and see what works!
Good advice I realise I am lucky.....I have a very good position with money until the end of this year, then im going to be moving and wont have the cash anymore. Plus Ive sold my car to move to London and share the girlfs....but eventually she will sell hers as well. Tube is the future. Over the past 5-6 years ive barely bought any gear, then this year I went mad. I think because I discovered I could buy/sell well on here and also find the 'right' gear much quicker.
20. VT always sells well. If I didnt have the BDDI and Tone Hammer id be after one. I just wish they'd make a better 'looking' casing for it!I bet it lasts well, I just dont like the design. The actual pedal sound itself is awesome. Goof luck with the sales
21. Hi chaps/ladies Ive been scouting about for another bass to use as my main bass. Ive used my MIJ Precision for years, and loved it. It still virtually looks new...but is now sold. I wanted to get a USA Fender model to replace it, to use as my main gigging bass. Ive found a J and P at a good price new, its just deciding which work 'best' as a main bass. Use my other basses you say? Oh I will, but not as often. I intend to swap between them every now and then. But, whilst the new Fenders are on a bit of a roll, and theyve finally sorted the problems of QC out (mostly!) I thought why the hell not get one whilst ive got a good quote. Ive sold a fair amount of gear so I can just afford it. Its got to be Olympic White + Tort guard, and rosewood always seems to 'look' better with constant use. I just cannot decide whether to get the Jazz or Precision. I love both tones! Im thinking the Precision might be best for just getting to a gig, plugging in, and having no issues cutting through, even though that Jazz tone is amazing. If I go for P, i'd have two P's, one J, one 5 string J when it turns up, and 2 Stingrays. Overkill? Yes, but you only live once. A lot cheaper than buying a high end car and watching it depreciate really quickly! In my situation, which would you go for? The P or the J? I cant see a downfall with either of them. They BOTH work well for me. (I did consider other basses, but after losing money experimenting with other types of basses, and Fender Deluxe / P+J Fenders, I want to stick with what I like and I know works!)
22.
I got back into gigging this year so missed the introduction of lightweight gear, when I went to buy a new rig the shop suggested mark bass gear. I was'nt ready for it, and thought, because I now am only playing covers in pubs etc, I would'nt need a decent rig, so I brought an ashdown mag setup which after 1 gig I was unhappy with so I traded it for a mark bass head I then borrowed a Zoot 212 lightweight Cab, and was not happy with that either, it just lacked something Under pressure to continue to gig, I brought 2 orange cabs, which I knew would be fantastic, but they are heavy The 410 stays at practice room and 115 goes most other places Both cabs together are overkill volume wise, but they do together produce an amazing tone and punch that sits well from all angles (I lent it to another band one night and was very impressed when wondering around the venue) So I guess I really need a barefaced cab based on what I have read here, happy to be talked into one, but it would have to sound as good as the heavy gear i currently have I may lose a bit of cash on this journey, but hope soon I will have a rig that I will be very pleased with and will see me through latter life!
Im glad you like the Orange cabs. If you feed them with a tube amp, or something with a quality tube-pre, you will love them even more. I have to say, ive tried lighter cabs, and Ive liked them. But, the weight/size difference wasnt enough for me, unless you are talking about the larger cabinets, like a 4x10. The Orange 4x10 is sooo heavy, but that 1x15 isnt that bad (65lbs), and its quite 'compact' compared to others ive used. The size is a massive part of what bugs me with cabinets, not so much the weight. I will end up with a lightweight setup in time, but Ill also be keeping my traditional cabinets.
23. Luckily I should be based down south for the next one. No idea how Ill get some of my gear there, but plenty of time to arrange that
24.
Yes it will. Anyone who buys one won't regret it.
Thanks I was originally looking at cheaper models, but whats £130 when its protecting £1000 instruments!
25. I was actually thinking this today. Ive just sold my MIJ 62 Reissue P and the white paint on that still looks great after 14 years! Im going to get a new American Series Precision or Jazz to have as my main live/gigging bass, and I wanted to know which would 'last' the best and age well, but mine is more about colours. After a few PMs, it seems white is a good colour, plus it looks awesome. Black seems to show every single tiny mark so easier...so im probably steering away from that. Plus, Im all about white or sunburst if Im honest. Anyone want to pitch in? Cheers
