After hearing amps / cabs by both, Aguilar wins hands down.

I'm awaiting a punk revival, as in a revival of the mid 90s melodic punk that was incredibly quick, tight, and quite technical. No use for a name, Lagwagon, etc

Hey chaps Well, its done and dusted now. The Shuttle 9.0 is going back as there appears to be some problems with my particular unit. I am also convinced ‘it is not the tone I am looking for’, (Star Wars moment). However, GAS is still with me for a great full featured new micro, so I have now ordered the TC Electronics RH450, RH450 Bag and RC4 Floor Pedal. Believe it or not, I managed to get it for even cheaper in the end for the package from the Bass Merchant guys…so that’s another saving which is great. Kudos to them for being so helpful. I did ask around about the units at £699, and apparently one store in particular had them up for that as they had two ex-demo amps…which im not really willing to go for. Id rather pay the extra £40 and get a brand new sealed unit. Im actually looking at the cabs as well….you can use 3 at once which is just crazy…but I probably should just leave it at the amp Anyways, I’ll report back when it all comes in. Looking forward to the Tecamp M212 + TC combination….and the Berg HS410….that will be interesting! Cheers

I have my Markbass for the cleaner and more quicker bass stuff I might play, and he TC can handle that plus more rock n roll but without always needing to take tuner/sansamp, (which I have to keep anyway for the other amps). The Shuttle idea is great, but much more for a totally clean and clinical uncoloured sound. I thought Id dig it, but Ive been rock/punk for too long .....I think Markbass is the cleanest Ill go. The Class D amp war is very interesting.....great time to be getting new rigs! Enjoy it

I think im going for the TC head...and then I wont need an amp for about 10 years with all the stuff I have to play with. It has very useful features, and I think a more warm sound. The 450 watts is apparently very very honest, as in its loud loud loud, and not just a company saying its 700-800 watts when it isnt. Then again, I think the TC will cover everything I need. I just like the fact the TC has so much you can change, but in a very very fluid and precise way...and no useless features. Now Ive found them at a more reasonable price, its only £50 or so more than the Shuttle if I bought that with the bag and Genz pedal.

I have two....never had this problem....but then again I did have them set up after they had been sent from EB. Just raise the pickup or lower the G string.... Hope you get it sorted!

I'm considering going for this amp + pedal + bag when I return my Shuttle 9.0 thats had some problems. I found the Shuttle a little too 'thin'....very very clean and light, but not my sound. Will this amp deliver the goods?

I found the Pre-tube really hard to push on the 9, even when I followed the guidelines off talkbass and used an active hotter input bass. I got some grit, but not enough for me. On the other hand I've heard the tube tone on the rh450 works very well, and it's inherently warm anyway. All these micro heads are very clever, but I must admit some of them are too clinical for me. Then again I'm used to the insane sound my orange has so I think I'm always going to like the more rock orientated amps. The lm3 is pure brilliance and does warm/quick/precise really well.

I think 899 with the pedal and gig bag makes it a pretty good deal.

Unfortunately I think I managed to get unlucky and my shuttle 9 doesn't sit flat, and Genz thinks it's a chassis issue, it's definitely not the feet as I tried it the other way up and same thing. Not only that, it actually shut off at about 1/7th master volume into one 4 ohm cab. This one is being returned. The store and genz have been super helpful. I must admit after testing when I discovered the problems I prefer the LM3. I think I'm not a hifi sound kinda player. The markbass still feels bigger and warmer, the genz has the ultra clean sparkle but I think it might not be my thing. I'm thinking of spending a little more and get the TC Elec RH450 as it just seems very very pro and solid. I'm giving up on the search for high wattage, I'll never use it! The shuttle 9.0 will be great for ultra clean players who don't want the massive warmth.

Im super paranoid anyway so I always hold my bass....all the time If I can. But, the red rubber rings work very well...very difficult to put on and get off! I think ill use them for now...at all times. If I have so much of a glimmer of a problem ill look into straplocks...

Im paranoid about overpowering stuff, so maybe you dont need to worry too much. But 500W into a 1x12 could be ok....if you watch your master. The 2x10 will kick arse

Ok, there about 5000 threads on straps but I thought I'd ask my own questions. I use Fender/EB straps, and they seem to do the job. I don't use straplocks really, I use the rubber rings method because they seem to work, and they don't make a noise. Are there any you can buy that don't involve screwing new pins in? Also, what is the overall view as some of the very best current straps? I see the comfort strapps seem popular, do they ever snap? How about the mono straps?

Hey Just got my Shuttle 9 and I want to be able to use it in silence with just the amp, an iPod plugged in and with headphones. Few questions, where is the best place to get the cable going from my iPod to the Shuttle? Also, what kind of headphones would be best/most comfortable and what cables will I need?

Landed this morning at 850am! I was hungover so as yet I haven't played with it. Very impressed with service from Bass Merchant yet again. Pics n review up soon, more than likely tomorrow.

Ah...I emailed Orange a few months ago. I think that photo wasnt supposed to be released, as with all amp companies they always have a new version in prototype....and the 1000 version is apparently still being tested and tweaked. I think they will probably wait til summer....like I might do!

M[/quote] Ah yes ive been tracking that. 900W in this small size and only at 4lbs has to be some kind of record?! Im glad people have put it through its paces, and I think it will sound great with most cabs...and will make any 8 ohm cab, especially the 2x10s, 2x12s etc, much more useful on their own. I think by Aggies are rated at 600W, and they are 8ohms, so everything should be fine. I think the 9.0 at 4 ohms thorough my HS410 will just be fantastic....probably louder and more crisp/clear/articulate than an 8x10 and in small package.

I did. My GAS is terrible. lol. Has anyone got there Shuttle 9.0 already? Im intrigued to use it with one 8 Ohm cabinet...that basically means all the 8 ohm cabs I have can also be used as one cab solutions for gigs...or stack for pure doom. Shuttle 9.0 made it much better to have 8 ohm cabs...hence why I had to have one.
