1. Unity's are through neck PJ's. The Dyna/Unity Series is a Unity with Dyna preamp. It also has a 42mm nut on a thicker neck. Dyna basses originally came with 2 styles of neck, 38mm nut or 42mm nut. The Dyna/Unity neck always reminds me of the Sarzo bass. Of the two I prefer the Dyna/Unity tone. You looking at the Koa on GC ?
2. Phone them. No way they can avoid it then. I could see it taking time if a refund or money off was being asked for but not a straight return. Number is +49-9546-9223-476 Is it still in the 30 days period ?
3. Never any shortage of T40's for sale in the States. 7 on eBay this week. That one won't sell, not when the other 6 are around "$400 or best offer" $450 has been the steady high price for 2 year at least, but could be a price spike starting in 2018/19 when the newly turned 40 folks want a birth year bass
4. Aye. Trading Standards, small claims court are good. A written letter with your complaint, preferably "signed for" so there's a record of them receiving it. is another thing I'd suggest. A wee message on their FB page with photos, warning others of the shabby way they are treating your claim might work wonders. A damaged delivery is one thing, folks reading about it just think "Bad Luck".When they read the company is trying to weedle out of responsibility then they might think of how it could affect themselves in a similar situation.
5. The "not our fault" reply isn't surprising, seems like nobody accepts responsibility these days. It's a PITA but speak to trading standards,if you have legal cover with your house insurance talk to them too. Stick to your guns and make sure the courier knows there's no way in hell you're going to accept it.
6. Bunch of youngsters told me I'd love the Murderdolls, told them "don't be daft , I'm ancient !" Turned out the kids were right Plenty songs about Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll, hints to horror movies and loads of swearing Saw them 3 times in 4 months. Heard they split just as they got support slot on the Alice Cooper tour. Shame, that would have been great.
7. Congratulations ProfJames. Glad my prediction about you liking the Dynabass came true. Wonder if the T45 is the one that sold in Port Glasgow couple of year back ?
8. What a bargain Somebody is going to get very lucky.
9. My old Bass Collection is very light as is the Danelectro at 7lb. Retrovibe Evo was a big shock, massive sound from 7lb. The Zygote model didn't weigh much more. Other light basses I had include Tune Bass Maniacs,Cort Curbow & Wilson Sapphire. The Ibanez Ergodyne I set up yesterday was a lightweight too. The Peavey Resolite is under 7lb but they never went into production.
10. If it's just pot luck then it's pot luck 2-3 times a day for the last 6 weeks Before removing the Netfilter.2 from Windows I was getting the "britmethod" page,Windows Virus Alert or a Gambling pop-up every time I visited BC. Took me ages before the netfilter thing showed up in Malware Bytes. Nothing else in the machine has been changed bar removing the netfilter so I can only assume it was the cause of the trouble on my machine.
11. In post #33 I mentioned removing Netfilter.2 solved all my troubles. It turned up after a Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scan. https://www.fixyourbrowser.com/removal-instructions/how-to-remove-genvariant-adware-netfilter-2-removal-guide/
12. Fretless BC Rich Eagle !! No wonder you were worried. My own "6-10 working days" period of sleepless nights just started
13. I always am impressed by the tradition of Morris Dancers. The fearsome display of ballons, bells and handkerchiefs has this Scotsman terrified
14. Could it be victim of the CITES regs and waiting on the fella who checks for rosewood etc?
15. Macc Lads version was called " Fat Bastard". Think reprinting the lyrics here would be frowned upon. So here's a link :-) http://www.metrolyrics.com/fat-bastard-lyrics-macc-lads.html They made the papers when their "business start-up" loan got withdrawn amid claims of racist, sexist songs, well all the "ists" really.
16. Not a thing I'd do myself but I imagine a decal saves answering the " Why haven't you got a Fender ?" question. Some folks do listen with their eyes and who wants to spend time defending their choice in gear.
17. BassApprentice Get them. Don't think you'll be disappointed, I'm sure as hell not edit I was gonna start a new post but think it's best to keep this together. First thing the supplier Fret Funk. Can't rate them highly enough, emailed them 11pm Friday about a 5 string set and had a reply by 10am Saturday morning. Placed the order and had the strings by 10am this morning,48 hrs including the weekend is pretty impressive. The strings themselves feel great, they also look great. The photos were taken with my mobile so it doesn't show how vibrant the colour is to full effect. I was swapping from DR neons and the Aurora feel the same, different from the Nexus I normally use. The Nexus I've been finding to bright recently, Auroras are bright but not overkill. Also got a very clear full tone, like they're carrying a bit weight Up and down the strings the winding is even and strung through the bridge they're a perfect size on the 34" scale Peavey Zephyr 5.The strings step down in size so there's no trouble getting them on the tuners.Tension on B is good. Them being £25 is just icing on the cake.Bloody good strings. I'll post back in a month on how they're lasting. 18.
People always cite Fender as the business model to copy (pun intended) regarding John Hall and a possible Squier version yet Fender are $246 million in debt?
They should sell more T-shirts and beer fridges, the neon bar sign market is too niche
19. Jus Lukin A mate of mine took the plunge after many years of want . Says it took trying loads of different strings before finding the right set but it was well worth the effort. May sound like a lot of work but why should good things be easy Hell fire I'm in a positive mood today.
20. I'm with you there Woodinblack. It's their company and market and they like it that way. Often wonder if FMIC didn't make so much money from T-shirts,cables,posters and Vans training shoes etc plugging the brand if they'd have a different view on copies
21. Going after fakes is fine by me but going after things just because of a similar vibe is out of order. A lot of the time it's strong arm tactics that wouldn't stand up in court but the companies can't afford the legal battle. I do find the Ric police minions highly amusing though
22. Surprised the ad got pulled. If it was for the "trademark" thing ? Well RIC missed the boat on that years back or there wouldn't be a Rockinbetter in the first place. . Just put the ad back up. The Ric police's mum has probably called them in for their tea by now
23.
That's just a Falkirk thing Couldn't help myself there. Sorry. Dave
I think you may be fibbing there Dave If no then be glad it's only us bairns affected.
24. Gonna take a punt myself. Think there might be an Aurora 5 string set and the DR neons on my 5'er are dead. edit Aurora 5 string set was confirmed half hour back so the order is in and I've already received the dispatch email
25. I've played pubs I was banned from drinking in Could have been the crowd. At closing time a young crowd generally leave as they've parties to go to. Older crowds tend not to get out as much and some don't want the party to end. Drunk Scottish women turn nasty in the blink of an eye come chucking out time.
