1. Lovely through neck bass,I reckon made in Indonesia but much like the Vietnamese Grind BXP. No idea about the passive Cirrus though I've saw it on an ebay seller's spiel. Cirrus have a wide cut to the lower horn,Zephyrs don't. Cirrus have VFLs,Zephyrs don't. Cirrus have ABM bridges,Zephyrs don't.Cirrus have graphite, Zephyrs don't.Cirrus are 35" scale,Zephyrs are 34" scale. You see a pattern forming That said what is the Zephyr like ? Same flat top humbucker pickups as the Grinds, 2 volume 2 Tone, High mass bridge. Neck is slightly thicker front to back than on the Grind,I'd also say the fretboard radius was different. If I can lay my hands on my gauges I'll tell you what the radius is. My Zephyr 5 had knackered pots so as I was changing them I added a preamp. I swapped the pickups too,not that they were bad just I was souping it up so might as well stick in new pickups.. I've heard from some folks that they expected more from the pickups but that's down to personal taste/string & set up.A recent owner of a Vietnamese Grind told me they prefer the Zephyr tone but feel of the Grind. I'll admit to being a fan of the passive Grind so think highly of the Zephyr but the Zephyr is far closer to the Grind than the Cirrus. Couple of year back they were selling for £100 but a really nice 5'er sold few months back for £200.I had a few bids on that 5'er myself Upshot. Well built, great playing/looking bass with the jury out on tone. When I go looking for the gauges I'll try and dig my BXP Cirrus out, could be that's the Cirrus they mean and not the USA Cirrus
2. Sent you a PM LewisK1975

7. Nice to see the new restored T40. Congratulations on a job well done. OK it cost you a fair bit but you spread the costs over time so would hardly feel it I've finished a couple of 40's myself these last few months, much to the horror of purists One had been waiting 3 years on getting wired up correctly. When I realised another 3 year was likely I spent 20mins cutting in a battery box then threw in a preamp Think that was in April. 2nd one was 2 weeks back. T40 with an extra hole in the headstock was bought before it got stripped for parts. Choice was fit a new neck or finish the original owner's 5 string idea Went down the 5 string route
8. Cheapest new Fender USA from Guitar Center is $1099. Mexican Fenders start at $599,top Sire bass costs same as mid range Deluxe Mexican basses at $850 mark.
9. Remember when the Sires first appeared roundabout $400,they upset plenty folks. Mostly folks who'd just spent $800+
10. PM sent regarding bridge cover.
11. Excellent choice. Can't beat it Comparing HB and J&D I'm certain they come from the same place,or the necks at least That'll mean there's carbon rods in the neck. What a result. Congratulations Paul

15.
My pal bought this one last week
Take it you mean the £450 one as the Black/rosewood is still on eBay for £650. I'm happy to see somebody's listed one for £850,might stop folks breaking them for parts like their doing just now.
16. It certainly is the midibase No idea why I've got it,my first experience of midi was kinda limited. BMF 88/89?, Wal had the tech and a group of us were watching it getting demo'd. The demo fella handed the bass to me I says "Aye.Very nice." an promptly handed it right back
17. Lovely bass ped and hope the fella sells it to you However what are these complex electronics you speak of ?? I raise you this
18.
I remember buying a brand new Gibson LP Studio from a reputable retailer, it had all the requisite brand & distributor tags on etc. as you would expect with a brand new guitar, except the serial number was for a guitar made three years previously. It was still a great guitar, all the warranties were in place (brand & distributor tags), no worries.
Lucky it wasn't a RIC. Their warranties started the second the QC tag was signed
19. I'm another one who loved these basses. The bass player for Greg Parker played one.
20.
Regional thread only??
Until the Dorset contingent arrive it's looking that way
21.
playing drones with the open G string up the neck
Jazzhacker scales & modes fur 6 string bass was bought last night. £3.12 wie £2 credit back fae Amazon. It'd been wrong no tae buy it
22.
How are you handling the 6 stringer?
That extra string is throwing me big time. The neck profile is great but I just can't see a use for a C string. Is there a " 6 string bass for dummies" book ?
23. 8 string Foundation ?? You are also a very bad man.
