1. I'm with tauzero on the Peavey Grind or maybe a Peavey Zephyr 5. My Grind is one of the Vietnamese built ones,it plays and sounds a damn sight better than my USA Grind.
2. A wee mixer with USB does the trick. I use the Behringer Q502 USB but there's plenty others. There's guitar to USB cables too but I never got then to work right.
3. Good shout on the MK1 Fury.
4. Thomann won't send anything with rosewood to the USA if it costs less than 990 euro, the paperwork must take a fair bit of time. Their flat shipping fee to the USA is 30 euro for orders weighing less than 31Kg.
5. They one of the brands owned by KHL in Korea. There's a fella on Talkbass named gebass6 seems quite clued up on them. Here's a link to a recent thread regarding them, might be of some use to you. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/wolf-bass-huh.1268293/
6. Ironbar Fingers crossed they change the board to a look-a-like.
7. Tom There's this outfit on eBay.I keep thinking about putting a leftie neck on a Rh Foundation body. £30's not too bad if it goes awry. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252674649141?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
8. Damn straight NJ. Growing up I knew 1 fella with a Fender. had wealthy folks and it was his 18th birthday present. You just played what you had and since everybody had FA fancy nobody cared.
9. The Red button is marked "Deep" Just been up the stairs to check. You can see it on the eBay picture too.
10. Alyctes You're dead right about the headstock. My B-10 got rounded off. The B-20 is still razor sharp though It has a strange notch on the body, bugged me for years till I got all NCSI on it. 6" cooks knife's blade fits the notch
11. Sweet !!! Absolutely cracking basses. No idea the neck profile but they fit my hand perfect Meet Stealth black and Snow white.
12. What did you get Chris ????
13. Great minds and all that :-)
14. Nice one Jono.
15. Very nice red Foundation ending a eBay tomorrow. Much as I'd like it, 6 Foundations would be a just tad overkill. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262871186841?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT One bid at £100, somebody's getting a steal.
16.
I've taken a punt at the £14.99 Arkay "discount strings". Will let you know how it goes....
I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on the Arkay. Fancy the lime Aurora ones myself.
17. Was in touch with Danny about a certain Tune bass, he couldn't help as they're rarer than hen's teeth even in Japan but gave me a ballpark figure if one appeared. Last August my 32 year search was over and Danny's ballpark figure was bang on. Fella knows his stuff.
18. I'm another who had the Gregory book. Remember thinking " who the hell is Felix Pappalardi ? " and where can I get the half moon Fender Entwistle was pictured with.
19. Can't see it being any of us who owned them, mine really did go on the fire This is £11.49 too much. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAY-BASS-GUITAR-SPARES-ONLY-REFURB-/311813335902?hash=item489985eb5e:g:kSsAAOSw32lYtszi
20. Going from this everything was an improvment. Round our way we were jealous of lads with Satellite guitars. One fella had a CSL Les Paul copy, that was top notch stuff for us. I dreamed about getting a Westone like Henry Thomas.
21. Ironbar " I wish I knew someone in the UK who could just buy me one and send it here!" I'd do it in a heartbeat but there's a good chance Customs would just destroy it on arrival. Then there the shipping cost, Thomann charge $30 but every guitar I've had shipped from the US cost over $100. Not really an option
22. Ironbar It's the rosewood fretboard that's the problem. I gotta say I prefer the look of the HB than the Hadean ukes. If you can't wait on Thomann sorting the paperwork,I'd imagine a month or so yet, there's always DIY This UK company does kits and ships to USA. http://www.buzzardsfieldukuleles.co.uk/store/c7/Build_Your_Own_Kits.html Or http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Bass-Uke/
23. Bassmachine2112 Alyctes is a very bad man for trying to tempt you with a pink Foundation There's no active/passive switch on either the BXP AC or USA Millenniums so that leaves the passive BXP with the single coils. I've never played one so can't say how they sound & I've only saw rosewood boards
24. Ironbar Sounds like CITES to me. You could hang fire until Thomann sort out the license or Rondo may be your answer. http://www.rondomusic.com/bluegrassfolk.html
