2. Looking good Donnyboy Are the ashtrays going back on ?
3. Damn hospital appointment messed with the important stuff again
4. Looks like I'm too late I'll console myself by the fact somebody's getting a bargain and I can't play a 6 string.
5. Somebody tried to sell me a Fender once. I saw through the ruse.
6. Don't think many girls will be up dancing to this. Technically still bass playing but I sure won't be going to see him or buy any of the records.
7. Bass Direct have them. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/LaBella_Flatwound_strings.html
8. Dad3353 "in general, humour has moved on.". Have you watch much Danish comedy? Everybody is a target and it's as near the knuckle as can be. Funny as hell too
9. What about this one ProfJames ? Fella in Germany just sent the link. Only 6200 euros http://www.ebay.de/itm/PEAVEY-T40-Bass-Ende-70er-/222510869589?clk_rvr_id=1214620134233&rmvSB=true&autorefresh=true
10. What's wrong with deliberately offending SJW's ?
11. Andy do you mean a stacked jazz pickup ? http://www.seymourduncan.com/pickup/classic-stack-jazz-bass-bridge
12. Yesterday I had a Peavey Fury II delivered, bought from Cash Generator. Bubblewrap was 2" thick then cling film, sturdy cardboard was next. Cardboard wrapped the bass rather than a box so nothing could slide about. Whole thing covered in black clingfilm. Bass was in perfect condition. Cash Generators charged a whopping £5 for delivery, ordered the bass late Friday afternoon and had the "collected" email by 4.30. UK Mail was the courier, they've been great always send you a text with the delivery time. In this case text came at 08.30 saying between 10.15am and 11.15am.
13. Tim. Glad it arrived safely and I think I can guess what it is edit I never sold Tim the bass so packing's nothing to do with me.
14.
Would you like me to run you up some loan quotes?
No thank you,I'll wait on the compensation claim. Anyways bass buying is over for the year.
15. You're not helping
16. Lovely. But it comes up the month before I get back earning Mind you, still having a Vigier on the bucket list gives me something to strive for
17. Get yersel through there Donnyboy Shame Ye'll get caught in 2hr traffic on way back
18. When you're skint there's always Westone. Plenty of them still about from 82
19. The fella got back to me earlier to confirm it was carbon in the neck not steel. Unless there's a sudden upsurge in folks smashing up HB's and J&D's we'll never know just how common the carbon bars are.
20. I appreciate you want to cover costs. As a sale is being discussed I'll say no more
21. £650 is a helluva high price. Further down the page a fella's asking £450 for his maple board T40. 2 months now,not one offer.
22. More flats from Dan. EB Cobalts this time. Posted yesterday, arrived this morning. Great fella to deal with
23. Guitar player flitted between being "born again" and white rasta. Drummer went for Satan or Nergal depending what phase the guitar player was in The stoned 6 stringer's endless "It's Babylon Maaan !! " started getting on my wick, even through the alcohol shield. Me and the drummer quit and hooked up with an old jazz sax player, very hip old guy who heard voices
24. I like the gestation time idea, fit right in with my 68 Wilson Sapphire.
25.
Interesting. I'm amazed they don't advertise the fact if it is true, as it would be a great sales point. There obviously is some sort of rod there. Might not be carbon though. Steel is the other obvious possibility. Is there a thread on TB about it then ?
There's not a specific thread, the fella posted in the HB owners club a while back saying he'd went for maple as CITES stopped him going rosewood,When it arrived he'd stripped the head on a screw,it was bought as a modding platform, had a bi-polar rage attack and smashed it up. Poor bugger did damage to his house too during the event.I think it took guts to post saying he now wouldn't be modding it and why. Carbon Vs Steel ? Stainless Steel would add 5oz to the neck,Carbon just over 1oz,mild steel over 9oz R/C Model car & plane shops sell carbon strips for £7,the Metal store wants £9 for steel. If carbon's £7 in a shop then long term buying for 100's of neck would maybe add £2 per neck.I'll send the fella a message asking him whether carbon or steel.
