1.
Very nice! Apologies for being a bad influence That T40 still confuses me looking at it!
You're a very bad man !!
2. Of course it's a Peavey and it's a very unexpected Peavey at that for a couple of reasons 1st reason was I'd Had no intention of anymore Peaveys coming to stay. On Thursday I'd finished converting a T-40 into a 5 string Previous owner had drilled a big dirty hole in the headstock then had 2nd thoughts. It was going cheap and safe in the knowledge I could turn it back into a 4 I decided to finish the job One of the lightest 40's I have at 10.5lb,the string spacing is 16mm so it's a bit on the tight side but definitely playable. The La Bella Jamerson flats sound terrific on it. Next to it's brothers it looks great and has confused more than a few who've saw it. 2nd reason is I don't play 6 strings Got back from the knee clinic on Friday to a Msg from Bass_Guardian regarding the Tim Landers 6 our very own v8bass was selling.Told myself "I don't do 6's" but as the painkillers started taking effect and the 5 string model felt and sounded so good my resistance weakened. biro had shown interest so thoughts of a 6'er were just a safe academic "would be nice." notion. Then biro passed the buck Anybody who's dealt with v8bass knows just how smoothly things move so it was a case of "How do I pay you ?" then the reply " Where do I send it ?". Shipped Monday, here Tuesday morning. And here he is, the TL-6 Lovely flamed maple below the smoky grey finish, Dynabass preamp with active/passive switch,super-duper Kahler bridge. For comfort the back of the body is arched and the neck is asymmetric.Pickups are low impedance. This is a serious bit of kit. Set up was sweet too. Another week like last week and Scotland's Home for Wayward Peaveys will need an extension built

NBD.

Congratulations. Glad the bass-less days are passed.
4. Thanks for that BigRedX. This one using guitars for the posts caught my eye.
5. I was in Stirling town centre this afternoon and spotted these stands in a shop window. Thought it was a charity shop until I spotted the price, they're not cheap but I think it's a great idea. http://www.standbyguitars.co.uk/ No pictures I could download from the net I'm afraid, think they're protecting their IP and quite rightly so.
6. Gary's TL-6 arrived at Scotland's Home for Wayward Peaveys this morning. Beautiful bass and I've never saw so much thought given to packing. Soon as I saw the packing I just knew there was something really special inside. I was not disappointed I'd buy stuff from Gary without a moments hesitation and advise others to do the same Absolute gem of a guy.
7. 24 years or something like that with my Bass Collection SB3??, It's active but no fancy wood. Bought 2nd hand when I was getting back on my feet,it and a crazy old cat were the only things still there when the rug got pulled out from under me again years later. It and the cat are for keeps
8.
Also, this is how mine sounded: https://soundcloud.c...f-paper-folding
Bloody hell !! How many notes were you getting in there
9. Champion biro. I'd asked for 2nd dibs just in case, I better make some room

11. Damn hospital appointment messed with the important stuff again
12. Looks like I'm too late I'll console myself by the fact somebody's getting a bargain and I can't play a 6 string.
13. Somebody tried to sell me a Fender once. I saw through the ruse.
14. Don't think many girls will be up dancing to this. Technically still bass playing but I sure won't be going to see him or buy any of the records.

20. Yesterday I had a Peavey Fury II delivered, bought from Cash Generator. Bubblewrap was 2" thick then cling film, sturdy cardboard was next. Cardboard wrapped the bass rather than a box so nothing could slide about. Whole thing covered in black clingfilm. Bass was in perfect condition. Cash Generators charged a whopping £5 for delivery, ordered the bass late Friday afternoon and had the "collected" email by 4.30. UK Mail was the courier, they've been great always send you a text with the delivery time. In this case text came at 08.30 saying between 10.15am and 11.15am.
21. Tim. Glad it arrived safely and I think I can guess what it is edit I never sold Tim the bass so packing's nothing to do with me.
