8. I did an open mic night out of boredom one thursday night. On the back of 3 or 4 songs I rattled off, I ended up getting a paying gig from the landlord of the pub and what I loosely call a solo career.
9. I met Leo Lyons. Absolute gentleman and the best 'tasche in rock
10. I have a Squier Strat neck, also all maple, that i want to put on it, but it needs about 2mm taking off it to fit, something I am not confident in doing. I will get my mate to do it at some point
11. Very nice indeed. Love the chorus vocals and the breakdown after it.
12. New Dirt Cheap Guitar Day Yesterday I bought a Hohner Rockwood LX90 from a charity shop for the princely sum of £16. The finish is very deep and thick. Three piece solid body, Nicely aged-looking pickguard. According to teh webbernet, these were your cheapo stratolikes from the mid-nineties. The neck is smooth and silky and the pups sound pretty authentic - very bright and sparkly that soak up dirt like a Dyson. Worth it. The only thing I don't like is the shape of the stock.
13. My music teacher actively tried to discourage me from learning guitar because the electric guitar wasn't " a proper instrument".
14. If this was a drummers forum I reckon the number would be double figures It is round these parts anyway....
15. White Stripes late Nineties. I would have loved to have been their bass player
16. I played a solo gig in the Goods Inward Bay of a heating installation company. A first for me, I must say.
17. I did a radio show a few months back and I have isolated the tracks I played. They are rather rough but I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad. https://soundcloud.com/freddy-le-cragg
