1. I have always played with a pick as I came from a lead guitar background. Probably more through laziness. I find that picking suits my style more than fingers. I do use fingers for the slower softer tracks mind.
2. What is the ohm- age of the speaker outs on this fella? I am very interested but would you be able to send me the dimensions and weight so I can see how much a courier would be? Much obliged
3. What the hell, here we go. This is my rabble at a local charity festival. We went on 2 hours after we were billed (which ended up being at about quarter to midnight) but I think there is some kind of nervous, hell for leather energy here
4. There was a guitar shop on Denmark Street on that bailiff "Sherriffs are Coming" thingy not so long ago
5. I guessed it was Geddy Lee.....mainly cos his bass was a black Jazz with maple + block neck
6. I flail like an idiot fo rmost of the set, even though I am supposed to be singing into a mic for a majority of it. I have almost perfected the "length of the stage dive when my singy bit starts" technique. Too many bands round these parts either stand stock still or worse, all face each other or the drummer. The audience is there in front.... at least look at them!
7. Tv related ish, The first head to head on Pointless was Bass Players.
8. I have been doing the opposite! Replacing Cds for vinyl.
9. Dedicated rehearsal studio on an industrial estate. For a four hour rehearsal once a week its 24 quid per person per month. That includes secure storage, use of PA/backline/drumkit and a kettle.
10. This is my MIM Jazz. It originally came with a 3 ply WBW scratcher but I swapped in the black one. I bought her off the peg about half hour into a recording session when my original bass developed a nasty buzz that no-one could get shot of. She fast became my only bass. Swift neck, lovely finish, weighs enough to know she is there but not enough to displace a vertabrae. I'm not sure what year she is but there a 60th Anni button on the back of the headstock. I also used to use a Tele Custom and a Strat from the same MIM range and had no issues with either.
11. The Human League - Don't You Want Me..... its on a No. 1s of the millennium compilation
12. If you get it sent via Home Delivery Network it would end up like that anyway...
13. "Lithium" by Nirvana I think. It was one of the tracks of Muddy Banks anyway...
14. No bass deserves this..... 15. I have had a few guitars with zero frets and ended up pulling them out on all of them. What advantage do they present?
16. Could be. But I have learnt never to discuss football on forums. Its worse than religion.
17. I have long been tempted by MM's but neither of my local dealers carry them How do they compare with Jazz basses ie neck shape weight sound etc?
18. That would match my drummers kit perfectly! lol
19. I am in the same boat. We had a few teething issues (singer being inreliable and the drummer being a flake-out) but now we have a new singer who is madder than a box of broken chimney sweeps and a drummer who is a proper metronome, despite being technically inferior to the previous one, shows up on time and is a proper nice bloke.
20. I had a white guitar labelled Jedson which was identical to that. I paid 35 and sold it on for £150.
