1. Paul Martin off Flog It worked with Average White Band, the Quireboys and Dogs D'Amour back in the day.
2. It seems to have two slanted pups, but says Rickenbacker on it. There is a brief scene of Steve playing it...
3. You guys sound ace. I may have to wander over.
4. Is it stock or modded? or a Jap Crap copy? Best grab I could get (from the audition scene)
5. https://www.facebook.com/mark.o.obrien.1 Give this chap a yell.
6. I love it! Reminds me of my bedroom when I was 12.
7. Local festival in Banbury, Did 2 sets, one in the pub and a busking set out in the great unwashed. The weather was fantastic, almost too hot at times but a fine day was had by all.
8. Cold war Kids. Their first album was outstanding.
9. Matt Garrison? He was the original lead singer in California Dreams! (Yes I have a penchant for crap American 90s teen sitcoms)
10.
Compared to what??
Every other act I saw on the telly?
11. Jack White was brilliant. Black Keys sound good. The rest was meh.
12. On a slightly different tack, I had a buyer open a case against me recently. I sold my old electro acoustic and the buyer received it and left positive feedback. A week later they opened a case against me, saying the first fret was worn and that the guitar was unplayable. When I said to send it back they said the "guitar repairer" said to send it off for repair and demanded 50 quid partial refund. When I refused they escalated it to eBay customer support. Previous experience told me that I was screwed and that eBay would enforce a refund. As it turned out, less that 24 hours after it was escalated, ebay actually found in my favour and told em to do one. So on occasion, they do actually side with the seller. I also learned that positive feedback has NO bearing on any case. Which is bloody ridiculous in my view.
13. I guess Banbury would be too far out for your drummer friend?
14. I was the opening act for a charity all-dayer BBQ affair at a pub in the next town over. Not bad but I have played better. Didn't help that a spotlight was raring in my eyes from the get go.
15. Mine had a Jap Marcus Miller Jazz for £350. They have no basses at all at the moment and the rest are Rockburn copycasters
16. Bass up full pelt, amp down and pluck till I get clipping on the gain, then creep up through the numbers till the drummer starts giving me a funny look. I use the 4 x 10 as backline and if it needs a bit more oomph Ill put the 2x10 on the front of the stage next to the monitor.
17. Yep. My last lot sucked a lot of the fun out of it. It was so refreshing to cut loose and just rock out for a couple of hours.
18. A somewhat serendipidous chain of events. Met a lovely chap who plays some mental guitar and a drummer who is a) an old mate of mine and only supposed to dep for a rehearsal but has ended up joining full time. Very early days yet but the vibe was good and a chuckle was had by all. Watch this space, cats! I haven't felt this positive about making music for years.
