1. Well, at least it's back in the family, can't complain at that as you'll know it'll get looked after
2. 'kin hell, that's a lot of cab and a lot of amp right there. The cabs look nice in red tolex though.
3. Is the grabber a bolt on? If it is, drill a small hole and move the strap lock from the upper horn to the edge of the neck pocket. If not, you'll have to put the strap lock somewhere else OR you could attach some weight to the bridge end of the bass, either on the strap button or on the edge of the strap.
4. Hand bags at 12 o'clock! Hand bags at 12 o'clock!
5. Considering they're made by Martin Simms (of Custom Shop fame), they should be bloody good basses: http://www.enfieldguitars.com/history.html
6. It's not really a jazz though is it? It's more like a p due to the placement of the pup in the middle. Still, I'd be interested to know how it sounds.
7. Pfft, I'm so not happy with my stuff I left it all at home when I came back down to uni so I can go shopping

guitars

I've picked up a guitar here and there, currently got a Squier Affinity Tele and what was a Swift Les Paul copy (now sanded down and in the process of being refinished and tidied up). It's nice to be able to play multiple instruments with different techniques, I still remember fingering combinations for the valves on Trumpets after playing them for a few years. That, and it's fun to hammer out a load of chords quickly
9. Would not a BFM designed cab fit the bill? I think he's designed a couple of wedges.
10. Err, picture unrelated perhaps? And not having grooves is normal, my Fender Aerodyne doesn't have them, however my Squier VMJ does.
11. Woo! Good thing to hear that you're still going Malcom. For everyone else: I bought one of the jap Aerodynes of GE, top notch service and a great bass to boot.
12.
nice idea, but i can see one drawback- having the pickups joined together like that might affect how they adjust, unless the wood plate between them is flexible. eg. you wouldn't be able to lower the bridge pickup on the bass side without lowering the neck pickup too and vice versa.
Which is why everyone else uses a slightly different style: (Picture borrowed from Dood's own website, hope you don't mind chap) Makes alot more sense.
13. Ah, pup ramps. Garry Willis springs to mind as a famous bassist with them on his sig model, and Dood had one crafted as the standard on the Doodle (and it's in production little sister I think). Rather good idea actually.
14. Showing off? SHOWING OFF? We're bassists, we don't show off, begone with your new age thinking! First few bars of Fur Elise for me
15. Well, given the choice I'd perfer blocks, but I wouldn't mind either way. Offset if done nicely look quite swish, but I'd oddly I'm not a fan or trapezoid ones (think Les Paul) or Sharktooth inlays.
16.
no is yours
NO! I JUST LIKE SHOUTING See, etiquette makes everything easier to read as well
17. IS YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY BROKEN?
18. Don't get me started on uni books, I've spent roughly £200 on six or seven books during just one year, them all being 1000+ pages of technical jargon which really you only need to read a few hundred at most to have enough knowledge to do the coursework and pass the exams. Besides, I never said I was going to buy one, I'm going there for a look-see and some strings
19. I will promise to have a look when I'm down in Pompey over the next few weeks, as if I pass my driving test next week, I'm planning a small trip over to Nevada Music which alledgedly have some in stock (and I've a student loan to burn).
20. Very nice, should be a beauty and hopefully a belter as well!
21. Probably neatness of routing, but then again, most newer Squiers having been getting good reviews, I know my VMJ doens't have any finishing flaws and has all been made properly. Might depend on the routing though, there's a chance the squier might have a canal from the control plate to the forward pup cavity, but that's neither here or there if you're planning on using a scratch plate all the time.
22. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26654 Recommended Luthier thread!
23. Well, they're not EBMM strings as said strings have continuous outer core until the end.
24. Almost up to Daily Mash levels of piss taking
25. My VMJ came from Reidys. Had no problem dealing with them as it was a straight forward transaction.
