1. Back up for sale. Offers invited, needs to go asap. Cheers
 2. These cabs take a bit of breaking in,I'd give it several hours, once done they sound great. I've swapped the CMT100 out for a Trace Elliot AH600-12 as the Ashdown sounded to smooth for the sound we have. Think early Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus etc. Gigged it last night at The Black Swan Bradford and it sounded fantastic. I even had a bassist from another band compliment me on my sound and ask for a run down on my set up which was cool. I have no idea what 4x10 cabs from other manufacturers sound like as this is the first time I've used one. It certainly works for me in my current set up, it's very easy to manage and seems to be well built. I can only recommended you try one but make sure it's had a good work out first to loosen those speakers up. When I first tried it with the Ashdown it was brand new, it sounded okay but I was a touch underwhelmed, that was during two hours of me, by myself in a rehearsal room thrashing the nuts off the cab. At one point the was gain around 2 o'clock and everything else maxed out, including the master volume. The cab took it easy and I started to think maybe I needed more power to get it moving. A couple of band practices followed. It sounded ok. A Trace Elliot head was acquired it sounded good. Played a gig on a knock up hollow stage... Nope not happy. Couple more practice session then a gig last night... Bang, excellent aggressive, punchy, tight. I'm a happy boy. I dropped the Ashdown on it before this gig too. It sounded huge. Deep, thick valve goodness. What I thought I'd get aft the original 2 hours of torture. Break those speakers in kids, your ears will thank you for it. (ear plugs recommend)
 3.
Cheers! I dont think the body size and comparitive neck length on the Thumb would be so much of a problem for me. I have a very similar playing position to Ryan Martinie with the bass sitting off to my right hip, so I think a thumb would be a very comfortable bass for me. I could be wrong however but I could just sell it if that's the case. I know the stingray is rather large in comparison...but dat tone. Would you say the Stingray is more versatile? I see people extolling the versatility of the thumb all over the place. Thanks to everyone else who has replied too. All of this information is really a great help to me
I used a thru neck thumb for several years playing similar material to that. It was excellent. I sold it last month due to shoulder and neck problems, it was a hard move for me as I'd owned it for around 15 years. I ended up buying a Streamer SS1, it feels very similar and I can't really notice a lot of change to the sound, it's also excellent. And it doesn't matter how you hang a thumb it will still neck dive and the 1st fret will always be on the other side of the stage. Second hand Warwicks... total bargains.
 4.
Roqsolid have them, very happy with mine, went for the one with the board pocket in front due to the fabric grille on my cab and turnaround was very quick. Also had the foam lining and it fits like a glove.
Excellent... ordered. Cheers.
 5. Sorry, can't help with the question, but also need a cover so will be following this thread.
 6.
Most people have been quoting the 'NV' solo piece as Billy's 'eruption', for me it's 'Shy Boy'. Written by him, and he's played a version of that song in every rock band he's ever been in, from Talas right through to The Winery Dogs. The DLR version with Vai (from Eat 'em and smile) is probably the best recorded version out there. https://www.youtube....h?v=UtwBJycUihw
Yes, Shy Boy. That's definitely the Billy song for me. I still think it's great now.
 7.
A green Spector. That's a dream bass right there...
Indeed. If it was a Doug Wimbish I'd be keeping it.
 8.
Bought as a stop gap until a Warwick SS1 was found. I now have a Stage 1 so the Spector is going... Early 2000 ish solid maple Wings, Schaller Machine Heads including drop D extender, EMG pickups and 3 band circuit, high power output. Very rare Emerald Green colour. This bass has definitely had a life, there's a thread on this site regarding the original import from the USA, it goes on to say the bass had been turned into a fretless at some stage. The person that imported it had the bass re fretted, it's also had the machine heads repositioned, I guess in the Warwick style and then returned back to original. It has the odd mark/knock and lacquer is missing from the end of the frets. I was planning on having the frets dressed and the edge of the fret board tidied up but decided against it. It still in decent condition and looks great. I'm based in the North East but will deliver to most places in the North by hand. I do not have a hard case for this bass so will not post. I'm looking for 700 ono. If you want it dropping off I'll be needing fuel money.
Bought as a stop gap until a Warwick SS1 was found. I now have a Stage 1 so the Spector is going... 9. The Streamer looks stunning
 10. Very nice, it looks quite evil. Do the Anniversary Euros have the standard neck width or are they 1.5"
 11. Got to go, a great cab in good condition. Get your offers in. Cheers
 12.
Mini amps don't do it .... but have their uses. You can't have a skybox on a 610 tho
Very good. Lol
 13. Yes. You are right about the EQ. It's very subtle, the buttons do make a big difference, but the controls are limited. Luckily it sounds great when you plug straight in. I suppose a compact 100W BTA head would be my ideal amp... If they made one. Maybe ashdown would like to make me a one off, just to test of course, probably over a 25 year period or until I pop me clogs... that would be helpful.
 14. I like it, the industrial look. Fits in well with the drum machine we use. I cannot wait to thrash this set up... Maybe this Sunday, fingers crossed. Listen out for the sound of thunder, it'll be me.
 15. It's landed. I now need to book a rehearsal room for two hours to break it in... Just me, my gear and some ear plugs.
 16. Ashdown Neo 1x15 with horn 8ohm. Compact, lightweight design. 17kg one hand lift. This is one of the early UK builds so comes with the strap handle on top. It has feet on the bottom and the side, so can be used either way. It has been used and gigged for several months but it still in good condition. I've just got a BF410 so this is up for grabs. Over £500 new £225 collected from Hartlepool Or can drop off in Northeast Yorkshire and maybe Carlisle.
 17. Yes. I have the same head going through an Ashdown Neo 1x15. It's loud. With the gain at elevenish and the master at twelve ish, and that's with the deep bass switched in. The tone controls act as volume as well, if the tone controls are all set at zero no sound will come out even with the gain and master cranked. Fingers crossed my BF410 should land this week for even more noise. It's a great head, go try one but remember to crank it in the shop and have a good fiddle with all the knobs and dials.

 19.
My recent recording rig at Middle Farm Studios: I mostly used the '83 Squier JV Jazz into a '77 Ampeg VT-40 -> '60s Fender 2x15, an early Ampeg SVT Classic -> an old Ampeg 8x10, and a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier -> Mesa 4x12. The cabs were isolated in 2 separate rooms because everything was running hot and loud. The Peavey 2x15 pictured was used for a monitor, room sound and general vibe!
Nice, lovin' the white jazz lamp stand
 20.
Loads of people I guess - At camden rocks tomorrow
A lot of interesting bands playing Camden Rocks. It looks like it will be a great event.
