1. Very nice bass, is it the German or Korean version?

 4.
Do you think this set up would be loud enough for pub gigs 80 -100 punters ? baring in mind the sensitivity of the cab & the power of valves ?
I'd use a CTM 100 at least, just to keep a bit of clean headroom. Which is what I'll be doing tonight ... If you like total tube fuzz then try the LB.
 5. Can now post in the UK as I have bought a hard case. Tonewheels has first shout...
 6. It's a Trace Elliot AH600-12 and it's started to make a strange rumbling sound, like distant thunder/wind. I've spoken to Stoneham and explained the situation. They are quite happy to take a look so it's getting dropped off tomorrow. Cheers Bren

 8. Thanks chaps. I'll speak to both and see what they say.
 9. Who is excellent at repairing SS amps in North East?... Urgent. Not Cameron Electronic. After taking a look inside he didn't want to take it apart. Possible gig next Thursday could do with it back sharpish. Cheers Bren
 10.
I got a TE AH250SMX new in the early 90s, and it's still very much alive! Last year I just wanted more headroom for one band in particular, and after much thought, discussion and agonising I took the plunge with a GK Fusion 550 from Bassgear. Fantastic amp with all the edginess you could want but the versatility to dial it out if you wish. The SMX is now my 'home practice ' setup, except when I feel guilty and gig it as happily as before. Pondering a GK MB series as a compact practice /backup head..
I think the GK will be the one for me. I've just set the Gallien Krueger model up on my Zoom B3. It sounds pretty good. Cheers
 11.
Not sure an svt 3 pro would suit tbh. There a bit tame!, they do sound good though. I fancied one for a while and tried out a few. Bought an Bugera bvp 5500, a kind of clone of the ampeg, all valve front end etc, after seeing a thread on talkbass comparing the 2 side by side and build quality etc. The bvp 5500 does exactly the same as the 3 pro but actually does proper overdrive too and costs almost 1/5th the price of the ampeg. There cheap enough to give a try.
Cheers Twincam, they do look good value.

Three bands... Ghost/Signals - Baba Yaga - The Golden Age Of Nothing + DJ. Cheers 2elliot (The Golden Age Of Nothing)
 13.
Ashdown CTM 100 Valve Head. Great sounding bit of kit, full of natural valve goodness. Does drive and it does clean. It's used and does have the odd mark on the tolex. I bought it a few month back from Merton and have gigged it several times. It's still in the same condition and comes with a Roqsolid cover to keep it that way. I don't want to post this but can meet up in the North or come over to sunny Hartlepool if you want to try it out. £550 collected I'll post pictures at the weekend, and yes... It's loud. Cheers
14. Thank you Mr Merton. Twincam. It's a great valve head and it sounds like a great valve head. It's manageable in size and doesn't weigh a lot compared to some. If you need a valve Head this is perfect. I need a solid state head to fit the sound of my band, this doesn't do that sound. Cheers
 15. Cheers thodrik. I thought it was older than that. I'll keep a look out in the for sale section for another. I understand how good the older TE gear is, I still own my 1225v which I bought new back in the early 90s. I was hoping another company would have something similar available new... just in case.
 16.
Sorry for re-posting. The link didn't show up very clearly on mobile Might be worth changing the thread title to the correct model name as it'll help with external Google searches
Cheers I'll update the title.
