1. Got to go, a great cab in good condition. Get your offers in. Cheers
2.
Mini amps don't do it .... but have their uses. You can't have a skybox on a 610 tho
Very good. Lol
3. Yes. You are right about the EQ. It's very subtle, the buttons do make a big difference, but the controls are limited. Luckily it sounds great when you plug straight in. I suppose a compact 100W BTA head would be my ideal amp... If they made one. Maybe ashdown would like to make me a one off, just to test of course, probably over a 25 year period or until I pop me clogs... that would be helpful.
4. I like it, the industrial look. Fits in well with the drum machine we use. I cannot wait to thrash this set up... Maybe this Sunday, fingers crossed. Listen out for the sound of thunder, it'll be me.
5. Wow, that's really nice
6. It's landed. I now need to book a rehearsal room for two hours to break it in... Just me, my gear and some ear plugs.
7. Ashdown customer service is excellent.
8. Ashdown Neo 1x15 with horn 8ohm. Compact, lightweight design. 17kg one hand lift. This is one of the early UK builds so comes with the strap handle on top. It has feet on the bottom and the side, so can be used either way. It has been used and gigged for several months but it still in good condition. I've just got a BF410 so this is up for grabs. Over £500 new £225 collected from Hartlepool Or can drop off in Northeast Yorkshire and maybe Carlisle.
9. Yes. I have the same head going through an Ashdown Neo 1x15. It's loud. With the gain at elevenish and the master at twelve ish, and that's with the deep bass switched in. The tone controls act as volume as well, if the tone controls are all set at zero no sound will come out even with the gain and master cranked. Fingers crossed my BF410 should land this week for even more noise. It's a great head, go try one but remember to crank it in the shop and have a good fiddle with all the knobs and dials.
10. Stings bass looks unbelievably comfy.
11.
My recent recording rig at Middle Farm Studios: I mostly used the '83 Squier JV Jazz into a '77 Ampeg VT-40 -> '60s Fender 2x15, an early Ampeg SVT Classic -> an old Ampeg 8x10, and a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier -> Mesa 4x12. The cabs were isolated in 2 separate rooms because everything was running hot and loud. The Peavey 2x15 pictured was used for a monitor, room sound and general vibe!
Nice, lovin' the white jazz lamp stand
12. Well done Barefaced. An inspiration to a lot of bass players
13.
Loads of people I guess - At camden rocks tomorrow
A lot of interesting bands playing Camden Rocks. It looks like it will be a great event.
14. 1St band I watched live. Birmingham NEC some time in the early eighties. They were great.
15.
Get a larger car. Bass players and tiny rides don't mix. Just be thankful you don't play drums.
An old drummer friend of mine could get his full kit in a Mini. Not the fat blob new one but an old Cooper. It's as if the car was designed around a bass drum, amazing thing.
16. Very nice. I still fancy one of these little heads. Ashdown have just uploaded a new retroglide video on YouTube, it's sounds great.
17. Def Leppard version?
18. Sold a bass to Gary this week. Excellent communication and paid on the date given. A very easy and pleasant person to deal. Many thanks Bren
19. Definitely Ashdown
20. Cool. I enjoyed that. Cheers
21. It may required all of that or part, I'm not 100% sure. It'll require some paint on the neck too.
22. Excellent news. Can you pm me his contact details please? The contact details and Web site listed for Dave must be out of date. Cheers Bren
23. As the title says, I need the frets sorting or replacing on my Spector. It looks like they have previously been replaced but it's a poor job, I can't imagine the bass leaving the factory in this state. As Jim Fleeting is now Manchester way and Dave Wilson seems to be m.i.a Who's recommended oop north? Cheers
24. Hi, is Dave Wilson still in Haltwhsitle? The contact details and web site listed in this thread are out dated.
