1. Red. Keep us up to date with the postpunk/goth band. That's right up my street. We've started putting on our own event once a month in the North East if you're interested, and check out Goth City Leeds on Facebook they put on gigs in Yorkshire. All the best Bren
2. I've just picked up the new Electro Harmonix Bass Clone. It’s pretty good, it's certainly worth a go. It gives more chorus to my sound than my previous EBS unichorus. I use it with a bit of distortion... Check the video out on You Tube
3.
The Cureheads - Living Colour & Glenn Hughes - The Sisters of Mercy Not all together
Living Colour have pulled out of the Glenn Hughes tour. Refund please
4. 59.7 x 26.9 x 24.8 cm Dimensions nicked off t'internet 19kg Cheers
5. Nuts, that's just the sort of thing I'm wanting 34", black, double cutaway... Norfolk, collect only. may as well be on Mars.
6.
They're also touring. The Mission have just started their 30th Anniversary tour...
Sisters on tour in the UK next month. I'm off to the Sheffield gig

8. Stupidy loud, like the one we did last week. Not sure sure what the craic is with sound enginerds in the North East at the moment, but standing out front and listening to some of the other bands that we shared the gigs with was painfull to the point of me walking out last night.Yeah, punk and rock music needs a bit of poke but it shouldn't be unbearable. The outside of the building was shaking, I thought the windows where going to blow... crazy. We had a good gig though, the sound levels on stage where okay and it was all for charity. Same again tonight, Gateshead this time.
9. Okay, I give in I will post in the UK only. Fully insured, in it's Roqsolid case + bubble wrap + Cardboard box. If that's okay with you then I'll ship. Cheers Bren
10. Sorted by Stoneham. Pulled the valves, noise disappeared. Put valves back noise gone. Thrashed the amp at practice still good. I was told to keep an eye on it. No charge, but slipped him a few quid. Very happy and will definitely use again. The Trace Elliot sounds awesome again.
11. Love the early Sisters stuff. Alice is one of my all time favourite songs, the sound of the bass on the early stuff is excellent. The Missions new album is pretty good too it's certainly got that old vibe about it. A very solid bass player and often overlooked. It would be great to get an updated gear rundown from Craig.
12. One of the best bass guitars ever. The quality of the BB3000 is very apparent as soon as you touch it, absolutely top notch... and you have that sound. If you play a precision, it's definitely one to put on the bucket list. If you can't get away with the dimensions of the Fender the Yamaha may not be for you. I sold mine as I couldn't get on with the string spacing and the pickup width. Shame really, it was one of my dream guitars.
13. Yes, it's been through the mill over the last few years but now seems to be pulling in the business. Check them out.... loads of gigs on.
14. Several bands playing Trillians in Newcastle for the Oxjam event. £5 on the door 12 noon - 11pm We are on at 5... The Golden Age Of Nothing Really looking forward to playing this venue... it's a North East classic.
15. Don't show pictures of green bass gear... My wallet starts to twitch.
16.
Its a massive improvement/difference (delete as necessary) - i had an ABM500 evo3 and sold it after a few months as it was too "woolly" strangely enough. Couldn't get any top end sizzle or get rid of the pillowy bottom end. Tried a Rootmaster and it was ok but not just didn't have enough about it for me to spring the cash - sales guy then said i should try the ABM600 regardless of my previous experience. Bought it 20 minutes later. It just had so much more slam to it than the Rootmaster and as long as you are happy to do some extreme eq'ing (i.e don't gently tweak some eq points, turn them right up or down - which can seem a bit weird till you get your head round it) you can get some very unAshdowny sounds going on. And it will rearrange your intestines when its cranked up - thats what the Rootmaster didnt seem to have. Set without the preshape it can seem a bit dead but if you run the preshape - which sucks the mids right out and i think is unusable as it is - and cut the bass dial back to about 11o'clock then stuff loads of mids back in with the eq it comes alive. Also push the high end right back up and you can get it nice and zingy. it doesn't respond to subtle very well. I don't use the compressor or sub thing. Run the valve drive below noon to add some Ampeggy flavour or turn it off to sharpen things up a bit.
Cheers mate. It sounds like a big step forward over the 500. I'll have to find a stockist and try one. I just couldn't get a finger sound I was happy with when playing in my band. No problem with a plectrum though.
17. You need to try one. I've found Ashdown have a sound of their own. I'd be interested to hear about the ABM600 and if it's an improvement over the ABM500.
18. Fingers crossed Andertons will do a comprehensive review of what this head is capable of. That one is just three blokes playing bass.
19. I've just watched the pro mo vid. It looks very well built and sounds great. I'm very interested in this head but need to see/hear more samples of the various sounds it can put out. Hard attacking finger style please with crunch, please. If it needs a fan then so be it. I won't hear it when playing live, it's a 900w head rammed full of distortion for stage use... it's not a bedroom toy. I think I want one.
