1. Moon Safari is one of my fave albums ever... top quality
2. Several more videos available on Youtube with well know players giving them a rattle... they sound great to my ears and now with maple boards, nice.
3. That looks like the pedal that was recently getting a run through with Norman Watt Roy. If he signs it off as good enough, it's good enough. Price is a bit rough though.
4.
The Dog House. It's quite a way out of the city centre on Carlton Hill, but for the right band(s) can attract a decent sized audience. My band will be playing there on the 8th supporting one of the versions of Danse Society. I wouldn't bother with the Maze unless you fancy being 3rd band on a badly organised multi-band evening.
Thanks for the heads up. The Dog House looks interesting and that should be a canny night supporting The Society. Have a good one.
5. Oh blimey.
6.
Hmmmm I shall have to keep an eye out for one thanks. ABM600 or AH600? I can see Ashdown on your sig.
Ha, yes I have both... I was talking about the Ashdown ABM 600 EVO IV. It's very good.
7. Yep. I had the same issue. It went back and I bought an ABM 600... now that's an excellent head.
8. The magic of the Flanger. Enjoy the freedom. It's all good.
9. One of my dad's absolute favourites. RIP
10. Oh my goodness. That's awesome. Now... what can I sell?
11. Excellent. Thanks kids.
12. Can any one recommend a venue in Nottingham that puts on original post punk goth type bands? We are looking to travel South this year to spread a bit of Northern melancholy. Cheers
13. £12 for a set of Rotosound strings? I was paying £3 for a single string in 1987... Time catches us all in the end.
14. Playing The Library in Leeds last year for Carpe Noctum. Fantastic venue and great house pa/engineer.
15. We are putting on another Alternative Night at The Westgarth Social in Middlesbrough. Friday 24th Feb Velvoir, Bloody Bones, Cult Figure and DJ Kitty Klaws. Turn up early if you want to catch the unbelievable talent of Velvoir... they're on first.
16. Ooh, PMT Newcastle... always very helpful. Highly recommended.
17. Sold
18.
Slam... that sort of describes it. Heavy Slam, it sounds a lot better than the EVO III I had, the eq seems more accurate and it's loud through a Barefaced 4x10. I have the pre shape button out, so a bass heavy scoop? Then cut the bass and boost the life out of the mids. It works great with fingers but be careful as the eq is very powerful. Oh, the treble knob doesn't do a great deal. I haven't really had chance to try the drive, not interested in the octaver thing but did use the compressor to smooth things out. I'm impressed. I need a bit more time with the eq and drive though... It's not a Trace Elliot and doesn't sound like one, it sounds like an Ashdown and that's what I need to work with. Go try one, you can thank me later...
20. I'd try the Stoneham and the Orange. Stoneham are near Silverlink and come across as very knowledgeable. He has one in his workshop ready to try... I had an Orange about 25 year ago, played it through an old Peavey 8×10. My good friend still tells me it's the best sound I've ever had...
21. Bought my Soul Food. Very easy to deal with. Cheers
22. Flat? The CTM sounds pretty much the same no matter how you eq it. Luckily the basic clean sound is awesome...
