1. I was hoping that is what you thought. I'm now on the look out. Lol
2. Can't help with the bolt on, sorry. But are you saying the 3000s is 38mm at the nut? That's different to the standard BB3000.
3. 10 years for that reply... that's some thought process.
4. 1984. Nice bass
5. I'll take it. Pm on way
6. Gave the Spitfire a blast tonight with my band. I'm impressed. Through my ABM600 with everything off using just the Spitfire Pre Amp as the control, tight, punchy with a bit of bite. It fit right in... well built and looks great too. Top job, thanks DHA
7.
Can heartily recommend: Eat 'em and Smile - Dave Lee Roth First 2 Mr Big albums Both Winery Dogs albums
I agree.
8. You need to try an ABM EVO IV 600 and take it from that point. I've had a CTM100, ABM EVO 111 and a Retroglide. The EVO IV is by far the most flexible and the graphic is excellent. It's also very very loud. I'm also very interested in the new head but need to hear it getting thrashed before I make my mind up
9. Dear God! I bet you thought you looked the bees knees back in the day. Awesome photo.
10. I need to hear this head getting a good work out.
11.
Just to clarify Geezer hasn't died....or to a lesser extent even retired....so there's a good chance he wants tone he's happy with going forwards... Then 'Get the DOOM tone by writing DOOM on the amp.' Kind of... the Doom is in the amp at all times, each amp will be pre loaded with the correct Geezer approved amount of doom before shipping(the most dangerous part of the amp build), then the doom control just varies the overall level of doom.
Lol! Awesome.
12. It looks deeper than my EVO iv, maybe 3u? Something different must be lurking inside.
13. Need more info. Geezer v Evo iv 600... What's the difference?
14.
I've only just started using Ashdown amps and am more than happy with the sound I get with my Precision, seems to suit it perfectly well and the character of the bass comes through clearly. The best thing is the used prices. I guess many are not happy with the weight, fair enough, but I'm not fussed and am picking up bargains here and there. Just got a home use only - super clean - 300 1x15 combo and, from another seller, super clean 1x15 extension cab for a total price of £120. Both on Ebay, both collection only due to the weight which makes it a buyers market if you can be patient enough to wait for a local seller.
Nah... don't be patient. Buy my ABM600 EVO IV in the for sale section.
15. I had a go of a 4 Stroke 500 yesterday. Very impressive, the eq was excellent. Unbelievably loud too.
16.
Legendary skatepark. That's about all I know.
Yes. That is a fantastic skate park... Proper old-school cool.
17. Ooh... something has appeared. Bump
18. Yes, my point exactly.
19. I've had a BB3000, BB300, BB1100S and a Yamaha Motion III.. for me the 734a is a better fit and it sounds excellent. Peter Hook has several 1200s, I believe he maybe working with Yamaha on a signature model. For clarity, he condemned the previous incarnation that Yamaha sent him. Go and try one. It's the the only way you will ever know.
20. Both Peter Hook and Jack are using the 734a on stage instead of the 1200s. That was good enough for me to buy one.
21. Use your ears and remember the EQ can be used to cut as well as boost. Or flick it in to passive and use the treble control for tone. Set the amp up first then have a fiddle with the bass controls. I'd start with every thing on the bass set flat and both pickups selected. And congratulations on the awesome new bass.
22.
Have a barefaced super compact on order. The ABM 410 sounds great with the new amp, but fed up of lugging about to small venues. I just hope I get enough bottom end from it. Good to hear from fellow monkey hanger
Blimey... a local. I've lived in Hartlepool all my life and couldn't name another bassist around here.
23. I'm using one through Barefaced 4x10. It'll do Hooky. Both amp and cab are very good. Don't be afraid to crank the tone controls, my mids are nearly maxed out... Grindy nastiness. It's great.
