1.
Legendary skatepark. That's about all I know.
Yes. That is a fantastic skate park... Proper old-school cool.
2. Ooh... something has appeared. Bump
3. Yes, my point exactly.
4. I've had a BB3000, BB300, BB1100S and a Yamaha Motion III.. for me the 734a is a better fit and it sounds excellent. Peter Hook has several 1200s, I believe he maybe working with Yamaha on a signature model. For clarity, he condemned the previous incarnation that Yamaha sent him. Go and try one. It's the the only way you will ever know.
5. Both Peter Hook and Jack are using the 734a on stage instead of the 1200s. That was good enough for me to buy one.
6. Use your ears and remember the EQ can be used to cut as well as boost. Or flick it in to passive and use the treble control for tone. Set the amp up first then have a fiddle with the bass controls. I'd start with every thing on the bass set flat and both pickups selected. And congratulations on the awesome new bass.
7.
Have a barefaced super compact on order. The ABM 410 sounds great with the new amp, but fed up of lugging about to small venues. I just hope I get enough bottom end from it. Good to hear from fellow monkey hanger
Blimey... a local. I've lived in Hartlepool all my life and couldn't name another bassist around here.
8. I'm using one through Barefaced 4x10. It'll do Hooky. Both amp and cab are very good. Don't be afraid to crank the tone controls, my mids are nearly maxed out... Grindy nastiness. It's great.
9.
Hipshot Ultralite lic in Chrome. Bought for my BB300 on a whim... ex display stock no box so didn't know the size. Any how turn out to be to small. £Sold posted
10. Hi, yes 4 inline like a Yamaha BB or Fender Precision. I believe these are the smaller of the two sizes available. Roughly 13-14mm hole. The larger are 17-18mm
11. All sold
12. I wouldn't class it anything like chunky. It's not wafer thin or super skinny, but it doesn't feel like much of a leap going from my 90s Stage 1 to the 734a. 38mm to 40mm with a different profile. I think the best the for people to do is go out and try one.
13. BB1100S sold. BB300 still for sale
14. Bass cheapness
15. Phone Ashdown. They are very helpful.
16. 734a... it's a classy bit of kit. By far the easiest bass I have ever played. It's just right for me. Like a BB3000 in feel when on the strap but with an instantly playable 40mm neck. Sound?.. like a re fined BB1100s, smooth and even but has grind and bite when you dig in. I like it... Lots.
17. Aye, stick a Fender badge on, treble the price and watch them fly out the door. Yamaha... like a really good Fender, but dirt cheap.
18. Lots of interest, but still for sale.
