1. Would you accept £6 for the theory books posted? Are the "answers" actually all filled in?
2.
I'm also into 'superimposing' scale substitutions over dominant 7th chords - i.e. melodic minor, diminished, whole tone, and Lydian as a way of stepping outside before going back into the tonic.
Hey Mike - any chance you could expand on this a little more for us (me!) ? Perhaps with some examples? And then (even better) make a youtube video about it! Cheers Mike
3. I'll accept any reasonable offers around £1000.
4. I like the way this bass is so divisive.
5. I'd love this. But I supposed you don't want a 1968 modded fretless Fender Jazz?
6. Your name is Laurence Blackadder? That's absolutely magnificent! If I can I will check out the CD when I have a little more time. I just read the blurb on CDBaby and nearly fell off my chair in delight when I saw your name. I've seen your name "Bassadder" about recently and liked it very much. Regards Mike
7. Have you tried sitting down with a recording and transcribing it by ear? It takes a little longer but you'll feel better, it'll most likely be more accurate than 90% of tabs out there, and it will develop your ear.
8.
Looks a fine bass Mike, nice, comfy and worn. Looks a fine job on the ebony board.
Cheers Jase - it really is. I think the neck is one of the nicest parts of it. And thanks Josh! Any other questions let me know!
9. PMs replied.
10. Check out MarloweDK's version of it on youtube. Better doing it by ear, at least, than tab! Unless you have a really tight schedule to learn it or something. I was playing this with my functions group tonight.
11. Let me weigh in here and say that "apoonian" (Andy) is a great guy and fantastic player, hope he sticks around!
12. Apparently the only one apart from Tye Zamoras' Link Interesting!
13. Who else thinks Mr Beedster was selling these?
14. Yes! I would be most interested! It would be a great contribution to basschat. I would sacrifice 100 Talkbassians in your honour!
15. Bah! Read through the whole thread with the intention of getting on board, only to hear the bad news at the end. Never mind. I would have wanted a ticket, but fair enough. I was also going to suggest that our favourite Warwick Vampyre seller draw the raffle
16. Okay, a price. I was thinking £1100 or so. Open to offers on that.
17. I found Joshua Redman's "Jazz Crimes" a bit of a nightmare to learn - even though it's in 4/4/, it's tough to count. I've got it down now though, but there's no sitting around being complacent, gotta count hard! Jazz Crimes
18. PMs replied. Genuinely open to offers, it's not a trick!
19. I'm selling a 68 jazz folks.......oh, and have a bump!
20. Sod that. Archaic and anachronistic! And ridiculous during these economic times. I got, to my eyes, a really wonderful, beautiful engagement ring for around £1400. I paid just over £1000 as I knew someone GOOD LUCK! You won't regret it!
21. Cool!
22. Okay, should I disregard our brief chat in the 68 Jazz thread? Cheers Mike PS Get a nice "forever" diamond engagement ring - H Samuals, really beautiful.
23.
1) Postcode 2) Google 3) ??? 4) Profit
CANCER
