  1. I have the X1204 and replaced it with the Allen & Neath Zed 10-FX. The Zed 10-FX has much better sounding pre amps in it. Much much more warm and musical. Defo worth the extra money (I also have a Zed 22FX, which is now 10 years old and still going strong)
  2. Amazed by Lone Star the bruno mars song, Marry you (or what ever it's called)
  3. lovely enjoy
  4. depends what you're trying to sell really
  5. same reason I bought a Flea Jazz. Grew up watching Herbie on the show 'Marc'. Had them on video and watched them over and over. Fender made a one off Hebie relic. It was in GAK. Looked awesome. Then it was traded to Limelight and disappeared ti Finland IIRC. I wished I had bought it now. I have a JMJ Mustang, no idea who he is but man, what a neck and great pickups. I had most of basses Sting used in the Police, for my tribute band Had a WHUFC Steve Harris bass. Massive hammers fan me and I liked the neck. Too heavy Had A Sting P bass. Lovely neck and sound but bought the Bravewood, sold the Sting Also have a Jerry Donahue 'Vintage' tele. Love the wiring on these A Slash AFD Les Paul too. Best Les Paul I've owned. oh and a Brian May red special. Great sounding guitar, used in my 80s band
  6. I'll take the Roger Hargreaves please
  7. Best thing he has done for a while. Great isn't it
  8. Yeah thanks Andy. I'm going to be concentrating on my 80s band (in which I sing and play guitar)
  9. A lute album, that would be dire. I've been doing it for 15 years now, I'm 53 and not as fit as I'd like to be. Dodgy shoulders through sports injuries etc make gigs harder work than they used to be I fancy a few less gigs these days
  10. yep, be honest, tell em and see what they want to do
  11. I've decided to stop doing the Sting / Police tribute Nearly 15 years and one or two monsterous gigs, many great ones but the monsterous ones like Matala Beach festival in Crete, were truly incredible Expect one or two basses coming up for sale (not the Bravewood replic though lol)
  12. you're a natural. Nice one
  13. 4 years ago I started an 80s duo and picked a classic 80s cop show as a name Miami Vice. Crockett and Tubbs were a duo right This year we've turned it into a band Miami Vice Reloaded Maybe think along those lines, instead of mixing up band names etc, use a classic 80s TV show name 😀
  14. welcome sir, do we get to hear the recordings? What bass did you play?
  15. I would talk to Aaron Armstrong, son of the great Kent Armstrong. Link already posted above
  16. I recently watched the film Telstar: The Joe Meek story. Well worth a watch and according to wikipedia it's all true
  17. used a couple of 15inch mackie thumps last sunday. Outdoor gig. They were very good
  18. sunburst for me, sounds like mine from '73
  19. is that Chas Hodges? actually It's Heinz isn't it
  20. I play using my thumb a lot these days. Mainly the blues rock stuff but even some of the Police stuff is done with the thumb. As you say, a nice deep round sound
  21. the stock fender flats. I'll stick with them
  22. oh my!! One word AWESOME. Blues/rock band. Just a perfect sound. Very P bass, very short and so easy to play I might need another as a back up
  23. no it's not but Des (Crocker) was a bandmate, many years ago. We went to school together. Since this thread started, I moved to Deal too, Play with Miami Vice and the Tony Johnson band
  24. yep agreed. I took advice from EBS Freak over a wireless mic system. Stayed analogue with Sennheiser. It's superb
