  1. very nice, very george benson, lovely feel too
  2. the music and concept was great he is an evil man and as someone has already said, hiding in plain sight despicable
  3. ah I see. The holes are in the f/board and the neck, (in the words of Dave Lamb) CLEVER I've heard of people drilling tiny holes through the fingerboard to the neck and using those as locating holes (under the dot markers I think)
  4. @Andyjr1515 how do you know the fingerboard will go back the exact correct place please (I have a cheap Vintage Geoff Whitehorn signature guitar that the truss rod socket is knacked and I would like to change the truss rod myself, without breaking the bank. It's a biflex rod btw) cheers
  5. because of my 80s duo, in effect a silent stage, I had a behringer 205 tiny monitor. This really helped my singing, as I could monitor at a lower level. Then came the IEM which made it better again. They've made me a much better singer to the point that I would rather sing than play bass. As i've carried the iem into bands I play with, it has improved my bass playing as I can actually hear what I'm playing, I hit the strings not so hard which makes my playing more dynamic, as I have somewhere to go if I need more volume. My bass sounds great in my ears, more inspiring to play. I suppose that I am lucky, the KZ fitted my ears and gave me a good working system with the P2 all in under 100 quid. I now use the MI-Pro 58 wireless kit, which works brilliantly and sounds fab and obviously is wireless. All brought about by a tinnitus issue that I don't want to get worse. The information on this thread, with the input of you excellent Basschatters has changed my world and if I win the lottery, I'll send you a few sheckles
  6. I am totally loving the IEM experiance and will not play without them from now on. I recently did a gig using my Hofner CT500/1 violin bass and it sounded wonderful in my ears. Using KZ and sonic foam tips is working perfectly too, maybe I'm lucky. The bands that I work with are all IEM too except one, which does one big outdoor gig a year, all into the PA so I just set my own IEM up and they use floor monitors and again it works for me. As a guitarist I understand that loud is great, it helps with getting your guitar to feedback and resonate better but in my duo (80s) I have to put up with the fact I can't get that experience, so I just play round that problem.
  7. no I don't think so. It was a vallentines present to her, I think she still loves me😅
  8. this is why I now use Ashdown gear. A british company with astounding customer service
  9. I imported one from japan in 2008, for my wife. An excellent bass it is too. She still has it but it's been unplayed since her Bravewood arrived 11 years ago
  10. I really like my RM500 and I like the Ashdown ethos. The amp is simple to use and get a good sound from so I presumed the preamp pedal would be good. It sounds great in my practice room and at some point I was going to A/B with the RM, both into my desk and then to my IEMs to see if there's much difference
  11. I have recently bought an Ashdown Pro DI pedal to do exactly this. I normally use the RM500 evo2 but with my Police tribute going IEM I feel I can ditch the bass amp and cab I havent actually tried it yet (at a gig) but it sounds good in my practice place, I just need to mount it to a pedal board or maybe just used it as a table top thing (so it doesnt get mucky)
  12. like you say, less than 50 quid, worth a go I quite like the ZS10 that I have but am happy to try some other flavour too. Best thing I ever did was go IEM, I enjoy playing so much more
  13. I'm thinking about a bass vi for a bit of fun. What are the thoughts of the BC massive. Cheers mart
  14. I used one of these with great success. Took a bit of time to work it out but it was very good It also has effects on it too
  15. thanks mate, I had a similar thing last year and managed to sort it, fingers crossed
  16. hi mate, not really. It isn't weight issues I'm having atm. I think I have a disk out of place and it's pressing on the nerves. It's more a positional thing. ATM I can't get out of bed in the morning and stand up until I've taken the cocodamol and waited about 15 minutes because of the pain. Then I could get up and hobble about. (it's actually quite scarey not being able to stand) Physio tomorrow but lots of rest today/ tomorrow
  17. that made me laugh so hard, it hurts🤣 I might need to lie down at this afternoons gig, my back isnt in a good place today. I can't let the pub down, so more drugs
  18. the blocks spoil it for me, shame really as I could find room for a bass VI
