  1. Not a bass, but my 1967 Gibson SG junior I drove to newcastle upon tyne from Dover. It was a 700 mile round trip and I did it in a day (it was a long day)
  2. if there's problem with them, I'll send them back there are lots of good reviews too worth a punt, especially as the strings on both my Warwicks are too light
  3. bathroom scales tell me 7 pounds and 4 ounces almost 3.3 Kg
  4. cool, thanks for this. I've given it a go
  5. it's like a drug. I want to do more lol
  6. I took my WS50 to a gig recently (I normally use it for guitar on my duo gigs) and I didn't think it sounded good with my bass but I can't remember which gig it was. I think it was U2 and the Reverso sounded odd with it Maybe I'll try again, next gig on the bass
  7. I didn't know he played a Lakland P type Looks very cool
  8. that looks fab
  9. I initially had success with the MS1 but it dropped out at a band gig twice on one gig. Its a shame because it sounded great and was small and light went MIpro 58 and haven't looked back
  10. it's actually only the guitarist who is original but the current bass player, Frank Allen did join them early on The new singer has been there 35 years now I saw them a couple of years ago, they were fabulous
  11. last sunday I did a band gig with QSC K10s and Ksubs instead of the K12s and subs sound man (keyboard player) said it sounded the same, it's a result as they're 4Kg lighter each Will be trying them on a duo gig (80s stuff, lots of keys and backing tracks) this weekend (the K10s) on the deep setting I'm really hoping they cut it because they have wider dispersion and are lighter
  12. it's a lovely surprise when they go together so easily I've done 2 recently and am amazed at how good they are
  13. I absolutely love the remix, the whole vibe, magic
  14. thank you this is all great info It turns out we already have some images that we have used in the past, on a laptop So we need to check with the venues that are up next
  15. actually that's a really good point do the venues you play at, charge for using the kit
  16. The click track is on an ipad, some tracks are just a click and have no set length (drummer stops and starts) and some tracks have some keyboard augmentations on them and so are a set track We only do gigs in venues that supply the PA and light systems, so proper venues but some have smaller stage areas than other For example we recently played The Horn in St Albans. Fantastic PA and soundman but somewhat cramped on stage. Chinnery's in Southend is similar but a bigger stage Thanks for chipping in on this too, it is much appreciated
  17. to be honest, I have no idea at this stage we want to improve our visuals for the bigger gigs that we do I suppose their will need to be some synchronisation. The whole gig is played to a click, so potentially could sync to that
  18. Does anyone use on stage projections with their band setup showing either still images or video clips, or both How do you do it please We're thinking of something like this in U2 Tribe but I have no idea where to start
  19. Mental health as anything
  20. there's only one solution here (IMO) Walk
  21. It's just a body that john sprayed the wrong colour and let me have it cheap to make the red Sting fretless The paint wasnt even flattened and polished It has a fender 63 pickup in it and sounds amazing Just shy of 10 pounds in weight
  22. Its not very exciting I was trying to spray the whole thing metal flake gold from rattle cans but i didnt think it was good enough So the body is still a fiesta red colour It originally had a fretless maple board, again from china
  23. I haven't even adjusted the truss rod yet The nut slot on the E string needs a little file but other than that, it does play really well. I will roll the fingerboard edge at some point. The fretting is good, no sharp ends and well seated
  24. Actually I've had 2 necks from ebay The 2nd one is on my Adam Clayton '74 Pbass look-a-like it came from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/highendguitarneckstore?_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197 It was a 21 fret jazz bass with dots and a nice amber tint on the neck
