  1. if you get a cheap endoscope from Amazon, you put it inside where the control plate is and have a look. It sends the image to your phone and you can read it https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BWF7QLGP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 £20.00
  2. there will be a date stamp inside the body, I'm guessing that's a late 1964 bass, maybe early '65. Because of Macca, those basses were flying off the production line by now My '64 has '63 pots codes and a January date stamp inside the body (it also doesn't have a raised logo, making it quite rare)
  3. met Nick a couple of times, lovely guy my condolances to his family RIP
  4. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG must remove them then actually, as long as there isn't bass and treble to mess with, I should be able to cope
  5. I have a Warwick Reverso Adam Clayton active bass. Volume, bass and treble but if you pull the volume up..................PASSIVE that's where it will stay!!
  6. I need to do that headstock mod to mine I've aso got better tuners as they feel sloppy, even though they hold tune just fine
  7. I removed the knob completely, so it's just the shaft of the pot. This works brilliantly
  8. MAJ a great company. he has some tales to tell and is a fountain of knowledge
  9. I had a 6 string for a while. Played amazing but never gigged it. Really wish I had
  10. yep, @warwickhunt has messaged me about that too I'll hang on for a bit
  11. For me, I'm really digging the warwick buzzard headstock Seen here on my reverso
  12. In my 80s duo, no. If I break a string I can normally change it during the next song I just pick a song with no guitar In my 80s band, always have a spare. Exactly the same. All Brian May guitars, modded the same
  13. I thought it looked ridiculous when I first saw one. Never thought Id play in a U2 tribute. It's all fallen into my lap. The bass was only a 2 hour drive away
  14. Yes it was a cracking price I think. Im pleased it came up when it did as I still havent built the sparkly gold p bass
  15. Very droll Terrance🤣
  16. As some of you may remember I have joined a U2 tribute band A big shout out to @AndyTravis and @warwickhunt for the heads-up It's immaculate and plays and sounds good. Very precision like
  17. my '73 P bass, mine since 1990 and my QSC PA system , 2 x K12 and 2 X Ksub. owned for over 10 years now
  18. Thanks to @warwickhunt and @AndyTravis Warwick Reverso incoming
  19. sounds like 'Pete' is a complete tool. It's such a shame when people behave like this
  20. what I mean is, when it's it's my desk. My keys player usually does the sound but if it is me, I do go out front and listen, then I monitor thru my IEM. It usually works a treat. I recently noticed a lack of guitar at a gig (there were 3 of them). Had I not had my IEM I wouldn't have noticed because they all had amps on stage. When he did a solo I couldnt hear him at all. Needed a new mic lead
  21. I agree with this. My bass playing is much better with IEM Also I try to get the FOH sound in my ears (when I'm doing the sound, I just use the headphone socket on the desk) I cant always get that if someone else is doing the whole PA, so i try and get as balanced a sound as I can
  22. best thing I've ever done. I followed the advice on the bible. KZ ZS10 and KZ ZARs. I cant tell which I prefer. Luckily all my bands use IEM now so it's super easy I won't play without them now, even on a dep gig
  23. I have a northwest neck on a bitsa, its very good, I also have a cheap chinese fretless neck that's good and a fretted one that looks ok but I havent fitted it yet
  24. great gig yesterday. Played 2 x 50 minute sets then 1 x 70 min Home by 7.15, awesome happy new year everyone
