  1. My friend and part time band mate blew £20K on a 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. Took it straight to the boozer for his gigs, but sold it in the end as he was worried about it being nicked/damaged etc. I try not to gig with expensive guitars and basses now, that way I really dont worry about them
  2. I'm looking for a 2nd black JMJ Mustang for my wife. She loves mine and wants her own
  3. Fender actually have done a guitar like this, I wanted one at the time. Looks great though GLWTS
  4. +1 for the Police. Really really fantastic
  5. very good, loved it (it's not often I listen to the whole thing either)
  6. passive here too (except my Ibby MC940). Everything fully open, always I haven't used the ibanez for so long, I cant remember. Probably active with all eqs in the middle and volume full up
  7. I used to get a drill out too, Tubescreemer on full , octave pedal and chorus. Mental
  8. superb idea, I may try that at my next (last) Policed gig, next weekend
  9. great story, now where's my old '62?
  10. My mrs joined customs and Excise, many many moons ago. She tells tales of lots of drinking lol. It sounded like a great place. She has regularly gigged whilst on shifts. It can be done, also easier when you're younger. In my mid fifties now, I couldn't imagine doing a gig after a run of nights, or early shifts, but at 19 I would gig, be out all night and then go to work
  11. I have the X1204 and replaced it with the Allen & Neath Zed 10-FX. The Zed 10-FX has much better sounding pre amps in it. Much much more warm and musical. Defo worth the extra money (I also have a Zed 22FX, which is now 10 years old and still going strong)
  12. Amazed by Lone Star the bruno mars song, Marry you (or what ever it's called)
  13. lovely enjoy
  14. depends what you're trying to sell really
  15. same reason I bought a Flea Jazz. Grew up watching Herbie on the show 'Marc'. Had them on video and watched them over and over. Fender made a one off Hebie relic. It was in GAK. Looked awesome. Then it was traded to Limelight and disappeared ti Finland IIRC. I wished I had bought it now. I have a JMJ Mustang, no idea who he is but man, what a neck and great pickups. I had most of basses Sting used in the Police, for my tribute band Had a WHUFC Steve Harris bass. Massive hammers fan me and I liked the neck. Too heavy Had A Sting P bass. Lovely neck and sound but bought the Bravewood, sold the Sting Also have a Jerry Donahue 'Vintage' tele. Love the wiring on these A Slash AFD Les Paul too. Best Les Paul I've owned. oh and a Brian May red special. Great sounding guitar, used in my 80s band
  16. I'll take the Roger Hargreaves please
  17. Best thing he has done for a while. Great isn't it
  18. Yeah thanks Andy. I'm going to be concentrating on my 80s band (in which I sing and play guitar)
  19. A lute album, that would be dire. I've been doing it for 15 years now, I'm 53 and not as fit as I'd like to be. Dodgy shoulders through sports injuries etc make gigs harder work than they used to be I fancy a few less gigs these days
  20. yep, be honest, tell em and see what they want to do
  21. I've decided to stop doing the Sting / Police tribute Nearly 15 years and one or two monsterous gigs, many great ones but the monsterous ones like Matala Beach festival in Crete, were truly incredible Expect one or two basses coming up for sale (not the Bravewood replic though lol)
  22. you're a natural. Nice one
  23. 4 years ago I started an 80s duo and picked a classic 80s cop show as a name Miami Vice. Crockett and Tubbs were a duo right This year we've turned it into a band Miami Vice Reloaded Maybe think along those lines, instead of mixing up band names etc, use a classic 80s TV show name 😀
