  1. I currently still have an Ibanez MC940. It's an early fretless one. Used on my Police tribute gigs. My favourite non-fender bass. Lovely neck and not too heavy I've also had 2 SBR-150s. Awesome to play, too heavy for me and I didn't really like the sound, it wasnt Fendery enough. I sold my last 150 just as we went into lockdown 1. It was almost immaculate and I was the 2nd owner. I think it sold for 1600 pounds. I would buy the Ibanez personally
  2. you're not the only one 🤣 welcome to BC
  3. I went there only once and met them all. Spent hours trialling the TKS range with JT. He ordered a pair of 1x12 cabs that sound awesome. Shame they closed
  4. I've discovered over the ears that I only really want a p bass. As you know, I was 'Sting' in a couple of Police tributes and owned nearly all the basses he used during the Police years. White spector, Ibanez MC940, Steinberger, 2 fretless P basses and a 56 replica. I don't do the Sting thing anymore and nne of these basses get played now. When in my last rock band gig I started on my old P bass, went to a Musicman Stingray then a Flea Jazz bass. Ended up back on the P bass. Now in my blues rock band (does 2/3 gigs a year) it's a mustang JMJ. The short scale helping my aching everything. I honestly think that I'm done with buying now unless a nice jazz/p bass comes along that would appreciate in value, it would have to be cheap though. I'm certainly not looking but I keep my eye on the classifieds here on BC.
  5. so am I. I think there's pair on my old singer. He was a Jim Morrison fan and always wore leather trousers
  6. 🤣 It even inspired me to pick up a bass when I got home this afternoon
  7. And this is my first Police tribute called 'The Police squad'. That Ibanez bass is awesome!!
  8. This is a late incarnation of Live n Kickin'. Ashford based band that did 30 years. Here I'm playing bass and fronting it. Our original bass player passsed away a few months previous to this but we carried on. It's what he wanted. That's Martin Kidd on guitar (Cornford/ Victory designer)
  9. No, it's a weird one. They asked me to front it, it was my first time fronting a band and not playing the bass. It took me a while to get used to it
  10. Originals band I ws in. Hope n Glory. Same drummer as early Scandal who went on to play with 'The Last Resort' and 'Torme' Bass player ended up with 'Torme' too. Lasted about 18 months, did a couple of great gigs
  11. Updated version of Scandal from 2010. Me now on guitar, my wife on bass and the same lead guitarist called Tick
  12. my band Scandal from 1990. Me at the front, my brother at the back on the left. 6 years we lasted, 639 gigs
  13. I remember seeing them on The Tube. They were fanstastic. Dee Snider, what a frontman
  14. I am half Italian and you'd be surprised how well it goes down 🤣😎😀
  15. My 80s duo actually do 'Shaddupayourface'. We introduce is as the song that stopped Vienna reaching number 1. My mum is actually Italian and I was on my way to school one day and Terry Wogan played this. I thought my dad was going to die laughing because my mum did say 'Shaddupayourface' 😁
  16. I think it went to a long time lurker. Nice bloke too
  17. I think the advert is funny, I love the bass. Terrible demo by whoever that was. Love the binding and split inlays Would I buy one? Probably, but when I last had a Tbird, (a lovely white one from Nancy Johnson) it was too unwieldy for the pub gigs I was doing, so in the end I let it go I dont understand why Gibson don't offer white anymore, it's the best colour IMO
  18. quite a lot was filmed in Deal, Kent
  19. I'm going to watch it as a lot of it was filmed where I used to live (until very recently)
  20. This a picture of my first really good pub band called Roadhouse. It was taken on the roof of a club in Ramsgate (now it's the biggest Weatherspoons in the country) This is 1988/89. Me on the right with the White jacket!!
  21. it was ridiculous. Stupid, selfish people. Big Country were great though
