1. I got my hands on a Deco 6er, and fell in love with it almost instantly. Having never played a 6er, and "lost"* my 5er a few years ago and not felt the need to replace it, i got it as more of a novelty. My thoughts where that id try it out, think "thats weird, way too many strings", and sell it on for cost. Turns out though that it turned up set up perfectly, and played better than any other bass i have. I mainly play the middle 4 strings (the normal ones) and use the B and C strings for the odd note to stop me having to change hand positions for it. *It got stolen by the drummer of the band i was in when/lived with when the band fell apart and he moved out.
2. I think ill stick with my zoom unit for my multiFX needs. I dont see the need for a multiFX that takes up that much realestate.
3. Just resurrecting this thread cause im looking for some more board friendly midi cables. The connectors on the ones from BTPA seam to be made from a company called Switchcraft (05DL5M). They seam pretty hard to come across, especially this side of the atlantic. This seams like the best ive found, ive not found any that sell made up cables from within the eu.
4. Okay, i already have too many ideas of what i could do with the protostar. Thats another one on the GAS list then.
5. Heres a video of some pedals announced at NAMM, im particularly excited for the Geiger Counter Pro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVyLUbiZvtY
6. Just found out (from knobs new video) that they WMD are releasing a pro version of the geiger counter. Now including a blend, presets and midi (so hopefully tempo sync with the wavetable!) I have so much GAS for this thing. Edit: heres a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24pGUQNB5sw&app=desktop
7. I meant that asking "is [x] big enough to sell [y]?" is less about if people want to buy [y] because they saw [y] with it, more about how many potential customers wout see [y]. if that makes sense? Basically, its about the customers seeing the product because of the endorsing artist, not people associating the product with them.
8. If i where marketing a product, i would look at endorsements less as "people will buy whatever [bob] has" and more along the lines of exposure (i know i know, its a dirty word, but hear me out). Giving a bass/combo/pedal to a well known musician to use increases the amount of people who see the product, for allot less and more effective way than any advert will.Id much rather give a guy a [thing] and tell him to use it at his next gig/recording than get him to stand there and read off a load of lines about how much he likes it.
9. I don't get why so many pedals try and bundle so many 'extras' in. With the exception of multieffects, I'd prefer if they stuck to doing one thing well.
10. To answer your question having only read the title; i find the answer is usually "probably".

Okay, much more usefull than i thought then. The switchblade does look more like what i had thought of, if i end up going fully midi controlled i may get one and mount it under a board with my power supply. That or rack mount the whole thing, and just use a midimouse or similar on the floor. I would miss knob twiddling if i went for a rack mounted system though.

These seam to have a massive footprint for just turning pedals on/off. these kind of pedals really need to either have a much smaller footprint (just patch change switches/midi control only) or have allot more utility (blending/feedback/ability to change pedal order in chain). Guess they're just not for me.
14. Why does the vocoder need an effects loop? Its not like an envilope filter where it takes info from the instrument, and then applies it latter. It applies eq from the carrier (mic). Puzzling.
15. Ìs it me or does it look like it was left out in the rain?
16. Warped Vinyl by Chase Bliss, after my IE Frantabit its my favourite pedal.
17. Well, since the B3 there has been the ms60b and b1(x)on.
18. So the feed me is a crossover? But instead of giving you control of normal things (like resonance) the controls are split between variable resistors and capacitors (dont think ive really ever heard of variable capacitors before this pedal) on each filter? Then the volume is an overall gain stage, and the tone controls the freq. for both filters? Im not sure how the coloured knobs actually affect the filter.
19. This is an amazing pedal, absolutely love mine. nice warm warblyness every time i turn it on. Put it before your dirt pedals for numan-esc synth sounds. Also, can be controlled by midi if you get a modified empress midibox. GLWtS!
20.
Bad thing about cheap pedals it that usually they have terrible buffers. I found my berhinger tremolo sucking tone a lot, even when not engaged.
Fixed.
21.
PJ 4 HTR are up just now folks.
Sold out.
22. My pedals range from a joyo drive pedal (£30 new) to upper end mainstream (boss rc50/eventide) to boutique (iron ether/chase Bliss). I was going to get a custom pedal made up, but ended up finding a second hand discontinued pedal to do what I wanted (barge concepts feedback/blend loop). The main reason I seem to go for more expensive pedals seams to be utility, mainly midi temposync. For some reason it buggs me allot if time based effects are out of time with each other, so I only get pedals that let me sync via midi.
23. Theres a simple answer to this, you must be done kind of witch.
24.
What's actually funny about this is that I was thinking about mounting all the pedals on a board with a clear perspex cover! Not totally enclosed but at least being able to ensure nothing was kicked. A bit like this idea:
It would make me nervous to have that on my board, id end up standing on it and breaking it...
25. or get both a zoom b1on and g1on for probably less than any of the others. I cant really speak for how the zoom units work on guitar, but i wouldnt be without my ms60b.
