  1. Other festivals are available too. You have ascended to a higher level of musical consciousness and awareness that is beyond the popular. You are not an old fart, it's just the youngs will always need to feel relevant and now. Yes they have the Spotifys with everything on it, but they know not of which to search for. Yet.
  2. If everyone was in a city and careerist, #5. In this location and with the tight-knit pool of musicians, #1 is the only response. Coming originally from nowheresville, North Wales, I've seen this kind of thing get ugly and upsetting too many times!
  3. Havona - Weather Report. Far beyond where I'll ever get to!
  4. Fricking awesome!! Great to hear he's as cool in real life as his bass lines are!
  5. Aha! Cheers Clarky.
  6. Your future might be double bass shaped. Bass and percussion rolled into one.
  7. +1 for Geoff Chalmers advice above. That, combined with these warm up stretches have worked wonders with my own hand cramps.. Also, Chris Fitzgerald explains things brilliantly here too!
  8. The glaring truth..
  9. Frickin love Lamb! I saw them at Glasto one time, they were playing the Jazz Stage. For me they were the band of the weekend that year. Amazing set and fabulous interaction with the crowd. So positive and down to earth - Massive smiles all round. One of my favourite Glasto memories ever and I must have been a dozen times at least. Great story Robbie!
  10. Have you tried the Shadow 950 by any chance? I have the single side 951 and find it's great for my needs. Much less prone to feedback and sounds better than the Realist I used to have.
  11. We've lived in our house for 18 years just fine without one and suddenly this week, the said plastic bowl appeared! Why? Why? It just makes the sink smaller and it's one more thing to wash! Madness!
  12. I've got nothing to add here other than what a great thread! 👌
  13. Glad you got the refund! I would try the same thing regarding repairs although I'd go for super strong wood epoxy resin to bond it all together (and a couple of screws if there's room!) Good luck!
  14. Wow, thanks Ped! I will most certainly take you up on that very kind offer!
  15. Well, after hearing your sound clips Ped, an SB-1 has never been far from my mind. I have done a lot of window shopping for one but alas, finances are too tight just now. However, a recent purchase of a cheap yet surprisingly very decent SX P bass has led to me ordering a SB-1 pickup direct from G&l. A bit pricey with shipping and what-not but to hell with it, got to try one! I have a KiOgan loom and a set of TI flats already here in my bits drawer (off a previous bitsa) waiting for them to arrive. Interested to see how the DIY version turns out! 🤘 Hopefully I'll sleep better now 😄
  16. You could try a Dimarzio Model P. They have 4 wires for series/parallel switching. Parallel giving you effectively a single coil but with no hum.
  17. Why choose? Play both!
  18. I was looking at that exact one! I would have put in a bid myself but I'd just accidentally bought an SX 62 Pbass I didn't know I needed about an hour before! What're we like eh? 😄
  19. J. J. Burnell?
