1.
Court case is Friday, so I'll report back.
My nephew said the guy didn't turn up at court, not a huge surprise. But its still not over as if he can give a reason for not appearing the saga will continue..... NOTE: I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but I feel that it is relevant to show that some sellers 'will' go the whole nine yards?
2.
Re the aftershave- This 'no returns' clause is only legally applicable to private sellers. A commercial outfit are legally bound to accept returns under the Consumer Contract Regulations (Distance Selling Regulations wot woz). If they refuse they stand the chance of being de-listed by EBay or Amazon (assuming that's where a transaction was enacted), as well as being liable in law (I think it's a civil matter, though).
Court case is Friday, so I'll report back.
3. I'm in two minds about this. My postie delivers all sorts of parcels and packages, some surprisingly big. But I also get the odd 'red car' which for me means a horrible 30min drive into a shopping centre with no free parking and having to wait until Saturday morning.
4. Just out of interest. A few months back my nephew bought some aftershave on ebay. The sellers conditions specified 'no returns'. My nephew returned it regardless. After a protracted dispute my nephew won and got his money returned. The seller wasn't very happy, made various threats of legal action/CCJ's and started an action through small claims court. The court case is next Friday?
5. Don't forget to post regular updates on this thread so we can all do what we do best and 'burn' them
6. I bought an iMac from Dunc. He shipped it overnight to me at short notice. It arrived safely and all is well. Dunc is an absolute gent, and I would not hesitate to deal with him again. Shame there's not more guys like him out there! Thank you Dunc!
7. Unfortunately its a trend these days for certain people to while away an hour skimming through 'for sale' forums, just for fun, making enquiries and offering bids, then disappearing forever. They do it on Ebay, but its not so bad, gumtree is awful. Another way to look at what you're experiencing is being a shopkeeper?
8.
Haven't watched it for a while and feel the primary reason behind this being that the bill is just too diverse and lumpy for it to be an enjoyable hour long watch.
The problem is that I don't think Joolz cares what the expert muso audience thinks, because he is aiming the show at what he feels is 'educating' the TOTPs crowd
9.
Scott Devine got me playing bass again after losing my enthusiasm for a good number of years. I preferred the old videos where he got straight to the point. I've no interest in seeing him in an apartment in New York or walking around.
I'd always thought his target demographic were more descerning but now he's a 'youtube vlogger', and that's what they do. Be thankfull he's not showing us vlogs of his dinner, or worse, boring drone vids You can't blame him for trying to maximise his earning potential. I understand that many guys on this forum feel that its vulgar to earn money from music but Scott has to pay the gas bill the same as the rest of us.
10. It looks to me like Scott has obviously taken some advice about his youtube channel. I wonder if he'll 'nest' in Brighton with the other youtubers, or even release a product range of toiletries in Boots?
11. Trouble is if in six months time OP decides that it's not for him, he'll be selling a five year old bass. I'd be interested to know where it was ordered from?
12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMMqsViiaVQ This is a bit of fun. Sorry if its been posted already.
13. Bearing in mind your age (approaching 55), and if you've got a personal pension, you can expect to be spending a 'lot' of time on that!
14. Probably wasn't his. Borrowed so people wouldn't think he's a label snob
15. Agree with OP. Sadly, summed up with a massive . These rappers are becoming a cliche
16. I don't see the problem. If you're not happy to send it, don't. If a buyer doesn't like it tough. Plenty of other guitars for them to buy. On a slight tangent, my daughter has recently started a small online shop selling cosmetics and clothes. Sending about 20/30 parcels a week at the moment, but she's constantly fighting the courier companies with late/lost deliveries. As far as Ebay is concerned its always sellers responsibility for the safe delivery to the buyer. But the courier companies have no comeback. Ebay sellers are responsible for the courier but have no control over them. Perhaps, some time soon, Ebay will allow feedback for the courier seperate to the seller/buyer, so the courier companies can feel the pain of loss/damage too!
17. Has this got anything to do with that bloke on Ebay we're not allowed to mention?
18. Could someone define the meaning of cool in this context? I'm assuming we're all not just giving our personal heroes a name check, and that 'cool' doesn't have to mean supremely gifted either?
19. I'm probably going to regret asking, but Mr Pratt seems to be a 'marmite' character on this forum, what has he done to deserve that? He seems a pretty normal well rounded type of guy?
20. You've taken a lot of material away from around the neck pocket, how much is too much?
21. 2:39 guy with black glasses says it all!
22.
Although Rutger Gunnarsson played on most of the stuff, a British (session) Bass player called Mike Watson also did a bit. Full list of the studio musicians here, with some interesting little stories. http://felpin80.trip...m/ata/id41.html This is a really good insight into the ABBA Basslines and worth a read (The Bassists of ABBA). https://philwbass.co...ssists-of-abba/
Interesting, I'll give that a read too. I'd be interested if anyone knows about Carol Coleman from The field of Zaad/Kid Creole and the coconuts fame?
