  1. Judging by the headstock it started life as a childs pull along toy
  2. Do you know the history of the instrument? It might just need a 'setup'? I'd be doing a few measurements before I messed with anything.
  3. Lets call them 'sentence embellishments'. Do songwriters now feel they have to include some 'sentence embellishments', (that are inevitably bleeped out anyway) to complete a song. I can't help feeling that hearing 'sentence embellishments' in a love song is a little incongruous. I was listening to some of my daughters non chart music and felt that some 'sentence embellishments' have been jammed in at the last minute to try and make a song appeal to a certain audience. A bit like the way that designer brand names also seem to be slotted in. Rant over!
  4. It's almost like he's done it deliberately?
  5. I think the expression is "Ernie ballsack"?
  6. Just remind me (as I can't be bothered to look myself), is this the program where they interview Mick in his fabulous tropical island home? PS: I have nothing against fabulous tropical homes it is just how I remember the program
  7. Is there anyone here that learnt to play on a fretless and has 'never' played a fretted bass?
  8. Small world, I'll be over that way on thursday evening, well Frating, which isn't too far away
  9. My idea of hell is living in a country where it is sunny and hot 'all the time'
  10. I learned a lot from QVC. I can now tell the difference between a 'shark bite hem' and a 'shark nibble hem'
  11. Don't get me started on this crap. The funniest thing I ever heard wasa few years back when 'Stormzy' attempting to explain what 'grime' is on Radio ., I don't think even he really knew and bluffed through name dropping some obscure US R&B artists. But we all know, it's "Emperor's clothes"!
  12. Don't forget country and western sheet music
  13. All my basses are upstairs out of the way of prying eyes and 'amateurs'. In my experience, laypeople are usually not worth trying to impress, they are either out to see you fail, or expect you to melt their face with your '4 string lead guitar'? Although when I have been 'beaten-up' into playing, "wherever I lay my hat"' can snap knicker elastic
  14. I'd be checking the neck relief before anything else?
  15. There are some great youtube clips. Justin makes some amusing obvservations about youtubers near the end. I did have a great youtube vid of the band playing a mini concert on a US radio show promoting a tour. The radio presenter started by getting their names wrong and they went for him the whole way through. But I can't find it at the moment. Great sense of humour and something that's missing from many artists!
  16. The Darkness. I was always a bit 'meh' about them. But Justin and Dan are a riot, forget the music they should have a comedy show!
